Update/Preview 63

So, I have had writers block wicked bad this month. Blazing Trinity, despite how excited I was to work on it, just isn’t happening the way I want it to. I’m not giving up on it, but I have accepted that I won’t get it done this month. The tipping point? It took me a week to write 2k words for it. It took me an hour and a half to write that much of the Anna Apocryphal Tale, of which this preview is from. I started working on that early, because writers block. I’ll keep plugging away at it, though; it won’t happen unless I work on it, after all, but it’s slow going.

Also, I think I’m getting those patches this week, so I’ll start packaging them and aim to ship them out as soon as I start getting addresses. I’ll be DMing all of you when I’m ready to ship.

I’m kinda all over the place with my writing right now. I got about four or five things I wanna be working on, but they’re all getting muddled up in my head and it’s getting hard to focus. Hopefully I can get both Blazing Trinity and the Annapocryphal done next month, though.

Real life-wise, things are going... eh. I’m back to being in quite a bit of pain, so I’m organising all kinds of appointments tomorrow to get that all sorted. Nothing new; back hurting, knee not working, the usual fare. I got lazy over Christmas and let them atrophy, now I’m paying for it. The pain meds are always fun, though.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately, though. I’m alternating between the light novels Monster Girl Doctor and How a Realist Hero Saved the Kingdom. Both are fun stories, but they’re pretty darn different. MGD is all about a human doctor in a mixed race city that specialises in monster medicine. Of course, he’s also a bland 17 year old personality-less blob of a self insert slot, but the story focuses more on fictional medical stuff and monster culture. It’s a fun read if you just... skim over the protagonist’s introspection, because really, he’s just the worst. Realist Hero is a political fantasy story about a Political Science Major at University being isekai’d into a failing fantasy country, and being made king and having to fix the economy with his harem (because of course there’s a harem lol). Then there’s a war with the neighbouring country, and a civil war within his, and a lot of quoting Machiavelli. It’s not bad, definitely fun if you’re into that kind of thing. Neither story is literary genius, but I’m having fun with them. I’m also reading these in my down time at work, so I’m not wasting writing time lol.

That’s about it from me this week! It’s currently Australia Day here, so thanks for another week of support, Nagaspeed, and Happy Australia Day!
