I never switch unless I'm in a different country or different part of the country I'm already in. Just the unpacking, packing up, unpacking! Save your sanity and stay put unless.....you're not happy with the hotel or you're not feeling safe.

Some of the public toilets have sounds you can play, such as a waterfall, when you are doing a #2 so the stalls around you cannot hear. At least the public toilets near the Tokyo Tower does. I thought it was funny.
