Ok I know this is a bit of a weird tangent. If you've read many of the comments on the 4D videos, you've almost certainly seen someone comparing the 4D framework I present to what they see/experience while experiencing a psychedelic trip. Usually it's something glib like "Bro, if you want to see 4D just take some mushrooms lol" (or something more intense like Ayahuasca / DMT), but some commenters have told me what I show closely lines up with their experience.
I didn't pay too much attention to this aspect as I had no personal experience to compare it to. But I have been VERY interested in the therapeutic side of psychedelics such as psilocybin ever since I first started hearing about the research at UCLA, Johns Hopkins, etc. over 10 years ago (I highly recommend checking out Michael Pollan's book "How to Change Your Mind"). If you're unfamiliar, for patients without risk factors, safe, guided psychedelic sessions - along with the proper preparation and integration work before and after the experience - have been shown to have powerful results in alleviating depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, alcohol/ substance abuse, and other disorders for long periods of time or even permanently. I only found out I have ADHD recently (part of why it can take me so long to put up new videos), and have struggled with associated depression and anxiety for much of my life. So now that here in the US, psilocybin therapy has been decriminalized in a few states such as Oregon and Colorado, and after doing a ton of research/consultation, I finally decided to set up my first therapeutic session.
Given my interest in all things 4D, I am curious as to what I will see / experience on the visual / sensory side, even though it's not the main reason I'm doing this. Having spent so much time creating 4D models and thinking about 4D space, I might even be in a unique position to understand what I experience. I have a feeling a lot of it is just visual, like the 'tracers' commonly experienced (as in the above image). But it would be fascinating to know if the human mind can really experience the sensation of 4D space - deeper than what we can see on a 2D screen or 3D VR - in an altered state, and if that insight would carry over afterwards. And if I gain any real insight, I thought it would be cool to make a video on it, maybe separate from the main series, and share my experience and what I learned. I know it's a bit odd to see a video about psychedelics on a math channel (and given that I have a lot of younger folks in my audience I'd present it as responsibly and factually as possible), but I bet a lot of people are curious about this as well. Is this something you'd be interested in hearing about? Care to share any of your own experience? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
