50k Special Script: Early Access
Added 2022-09-20 17:23:51 +0000 UTCWell, the poll had a clear winner; to celebrate 50k subscribers, I'll be making a video about the games that inspired me to think critically about video game storytelling!
Believe it or not, I wrote it in a few days once the winner became clear. Usually, script access is limited to $10+ patrons, but since all of you were so instrumental in getting me to this point, I'm going to make this script available to all of you! We'll be back to the usual $10+ limitation for upcoming scripts like Media Illiteracy, Fatal Frame II, and The House in Fata Morgana.
This one was interesting to write, since the subject matter is so personal. The thoughts I put in here have been whirling around in my head for literal decades, ever since playing some of these games. It's not so much about the quality of the games, or whether they would be good choices to introduce new people to the medium's narrative potential, but about my personal journey, and how these games affected me in specific ways. Part of me worries that might not be all that interesting, but the "5 Games that Changed My Life" video went over well, so... here's hoping!
