Dreamer + Personal Update.

Not gonna lie, I'm almost angry at how beautiful I made this girl. But it always made me happy to think of her this way. Like, "I can't have it, but you can. I can give this to you, and I want you to be happy and live your life and fulfill your dreams" x).

I always thought of Lizzy as the person I wished could teach me everything, help me, and support me in my early transition, and Lynn was the person I wished I could give everything to, and support entirely now that I know a lot more.

And as I've drawn her through the years, and my artistic style has developed, she has changed a lot x)

Oh, but she still loves ridiculously big bows on her hair xD

Anyway, now the big news xD

I'll be attending a new convention! But not just any convention; it's La AniMole, one of the biggest conventions in Latin America! The biggest one is La Mole, which has the same organizers, but La AniMole is more focused on Asian culture, anime, manga, etc., while La Mole is more focused on comics. And not just any artist is invited; they have high standards and rarely have an open call, most of the time they have the same artists as previous years, and if someone wants to be part of the Artists' Alley, they have a waiting list, only having open slots if someone from the previous one couldn't/decided not to attend. I'm guessing they evaluate candidates and place them in that list in order of priority. They take into account originality, quality, style, etc. Of course, they don't allow AI and prioritize original art over fanart.

Well, I sent an e-mail with my web page/portfolio saying I wanted to participate, and the next day I received the invitation, which hopefully means I was immediately at the top of the waiting list, which boosted my self-esteem after being rejected from 3 other smaller (but still quite important) conventions. I didn't have my portfolio ready for the first two (the Yume and the CCXP) so that may have been part of the problem xD And the third one I got rejected from was this year's Hatsukoi. But in the end, it was fine I think, because IT'S LA ANIMOLE xDDD I'm so freaking proud and I'm so excited, and of course I have to make new things for it. Don't worry, I learned a lot from the Hatsukoi and later conventions, I am a lot more prepared, as I've previously said, I'm not taking new commissions so I can focus my time and energy on drawing my girls, the comic, etc. and I won't be taking new debt (and I can't even if I wanted/needed it, because my credit score is ruined for the next 5-7 years xD) so this is my chance to bring a lot of new things to my Patreon and social media too.

I'm also trying to grow my Patreon again because I'm still paying debts. Because of the lack of content since the second half of last year, I felt I lost a lot of momentum and some support, and of course, I won't receive more income from commissions at least for some months, but that's why I'm trying to post more often. Thank you to all the new members ^^ And of course, those of you who have been here for months or even years. I seriously could not do what I do and write and draw my girls without you; I sincerely have no idea where I'd be without your support, because it's the only thing I really can do. Depression won't let me have a "normal" job, and this is my medicine, expressing all these things through my art. I have bills to pay and everything, but you give me life just by allowing me to share a part of me with you. Every time I receive a comment from you, I feel so happy ^w^

I'll be working a lot, but this time, only on the things that really spark a light in me.

I'm so eager and motivated. I'm still waiting for my official announcement on La Mole's social media, but I've already paid for the space (and hell was it expensive, I couldn't afford it without the help of my wife and one of my closest friends ^^), so it's already confirmed I'll be there.

Sorry for writing so much, but I really wanted to share the news with you ^^

On the heavier note at the start: I totally feel you, in creating lovely transgender characters who you really wish you could be, wish you had to guide you in your earlier days, and who you now care about deeply. 💖 I loved the montage of seeing how you've drawn her over the years! Even in 2017, your art style was already very cute, and it's just gotten even cuter and more complex over time! ^.^ And, on the uber positive news front... that's so cool to hear about you being accepted into Ani Mole! Congratulations! I'm really glad you'll be pacing yourself this year, and be doing everything you can to avoid running into the issues you had with Hatsukoi. I also totally understand what you mean about how important your work is; I can't work due to a cluster of disabilities (including depression), and writing is so medicinal and exhilarating for me. I love telling stories, working on my writing gives me a sense of control over my life, and - like you - I really look forward to being able to share my work with others! ^.^ I'm really glad receiving our comments makes you feel so good, because you really deserve it. Remember to pace yourself, follow your inspiration, and have fun preparing for the convention! 💖
