Pokeball Version 2.0

Hey everyone,

I have just uploaded some improvements to the Original Pokeball (Function Version) in the Archives.

There is at least a minor tweak to every single part so you'll need to use all new pieces if you were previously printing the first version.  Here are the changes I made:

- I gave the Button a little bit of built in resistance so it doesn't release the latch so easily.

- I included a "tighter snap" version of the button  AND the spring retention bar for those of you who said it was a little loose.

- I made some minor tweaks to the spring so it's a little bit stronger (still want to make more improvements to this)

- I changed up the geometry for how the Outer Shells snap to the inner ring, so they should snap a bit more securely now.

- I adjusted the Upper Notch so it has a little bit more flexibility.

I'm still going to continue making improvements to the functionality of the design, but my next priority will be designing the inserts!

As always thank you all so much for the support!

- Jacob

Ahhh, seems like theres a few people struggling with the hinge so I may go in and see if I can make it a little thicker. One thing that may help in the meantime, I would suggest running a bridging test (they can be super quick) and just see what your bridging is looking like. Often that is an issue for people when printing hinges!

Looks like mine might have to not be spring loaded. I I've printed 2 inner rings now, and both times the hinge just couldn't handle the spring and broke. Thats ok, this is still the best PokeBall design available online in my opninion!

Hey Dylan, great question! So it doesn't need supports because printers are able to "bridge" across flat areas. You're printer has to be reasonably dialed in, but it works perfectly fine without supports!

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't understand how the shells can print without supports? The upper part of the ball where I transitions to a flat top would definitely need supports right?
