Happy November, everyone! We're getting pretty close to the end of the year! It's been a very busy year, but also a good one. Let's get into this month's update!

KINDRED HEAVENS

Let's hear from Scott first...

Hello November! October was a bit of a slog art wise, had a difficult time getting things done in a timely manner, but we're still on track to finish KH4 at the end of the year! I finished few pages, but inked a lot, so coloring to catch up will be easy. I've definitely noticed this style getting more and more detailed with the layouts and backgrounds, which takes more time. I am considering adjusting it to be more simple so I can draw more pages more quickly. But, I quite like the work I'm doing so that's hard to accept. It's a lose-lose. LOL

Or, I guess a win-win if you want to think about it optimistically.

Now onto Bryce...

This month, Scott allowed me to take the next step in my flatting journey, and now I'm doing the line-coloring for Kindred Heavens! You might have noticed how a lot of times, in Scott's art, the line color deviates from the standard black. It's a bit more complicated than normal flatting, so for the longest time I wasn't doing it, but now that I've been doing this for nearly an entirely book, he's entrusted this duty to me. Here's an example of what I mean:

It's been really fun! And definitely a learning process. It's the sort of thing where if I'm not precise with it, there's no point in doing in, because then it creates more work for Scott. Also, here's an example of a flatted to finish page, for those curious

MERCH

This is a small update, but I'd like to let everyone know that I am getting closer on having prints available on our store. Learning how to use a whole new wide-format printer, as well as a guillotine cutter, has been a bit more of a challenge than I anticipated, but it's coming along! The real challenge with things like this isn't getting it right once, it's being able to replicate it consistently over-and-over for multiple different art pieces. Here are two samples (they're pre-cut and both slightly misprinted, but I just wanted to show off some progress)

I am also in the process of working on eight inch stickers for the store!

Back to Scott...

This is an extra note here but recently we made a post asking what people wanted to see more of, and by far the most common reply was to see more of the other OCs with Lucia, which surprised me. I expected all of the answers to be strange requests or fanart, but seeing you want more of our original characters made me happy. So, in future posts I will try and include them more. And after the positive reception to the recent yuri comic, it made me want to draw another small comic like that. And since everyone wants more of the existing characters, we are thinking it should be a comic about Mia and Lucia's origin, how they met.

Nothing is concrete with this plan, yet, and I am taking a small break after KH4 finishes, but that could be something we work on at the start of 2026.
