COMIC UPDATE, 3/4/25

Hey, everyone! Another month. This update's gonna be a bit shorter than usual, so let's right into it!

KINDRED HEAVENS

First off, I'd like to remind everyone that the Kickstarter for Kindred Heavens Book Three is currently ongoing and almost halfway over! If you're interested, please check out the Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1775833911/kindred-heavens-book-three

In addition to the Kickstarter, this month we dropped our first ever animated trailer, created by the amazing Studio Blitzbox! This was many months in the making and Scott and I are both incredibly proud of how it turned out and thankful to the entire team.

While most of our focus this month has been dedicated to the Kickstarter, the trailer, and traveling for conventions, I've been hard at work on the script for Kindred Heavens Book Five, which I completed just last week! There will likely be a few more revisions here and there over the next couple weeks, but nothing major. As it stands, Book Five is the longest book in the series, and I'm immensely proud of how it turned out.

I've also taken over as the flatter on Kindred Heavens, which basically means it's my job to lay down all of the base colors so that Scott can go in and get straight to coloring/shading, making the whole process much quicker. So far I've flatted 16 pages and it's been a very fun learning process! It helps me get closer to the comic than ever, which is really awesome. Here are some samples of the flats!

Now, let's hear from Scott:

Hey guys! A bit of a lax/unfortunate update this month. In February I made practically no progress on book 4, but it did see the Anime Sunika convention, the launch of the book 3 Kickstarter, as well as Bryce and I both getting the mega flu that knocked us out for a couple of weeks.

And then on top of that, I’m moving soon so I will need extra time to pack, this has caused me to decide to delay Kindred Heavens 4s work for a month or two, leaving it paused.

The only news to report with it, is that we’ve moved Bryce to flatting duties for this book, which he can speak more about. But, when I resume work this will allow me to move much faster.

The plan is still to have book 4 released in 2025!!! With Bryce flatting I really believe it’s possible. That’s all from me.
