last month's update

Hey, everyone! Another month. Let's get right into it!

KINDRED HEAVENS

First off, we'd like to tell everyone that the Kickstarter for Kindred Heavens Book Three launches on February 19th! Stay tuned for more updates!

On the writing side of things, last month was busy one. In December we finished the script for KH4, but after taking a break for the holidays, we realized we weren't as satisfied with it as we wanted to be. Most specifically, we weren't too happy with one of the characters introduced in Book Four and the entire plot surrounding them. The original idea we had for them, which we came up which all the way back before Book One was even drawn, just didn't fit with the current flow, or vibe, of the story.

And so, we did a round of rewrites focused mostly on revitalizing that character and amping up the ending, which we entirely scrapped, and rewrote, twice (woo!). But, in the end, it was worth it! We're both very, very happy with the changes!

Pssst, I'm writing Book Five currently! 48 pages written so far! 

Now, let's here from Scott:

Happy February guys!

Sort of a tough month for me to stomach because I failed my goal pretty hard, as you can see in the book 4 spreadsheet here. I wanted to get to page 30 of KH4 by the end of Jan, but unfortunately due to some issues in production I had to prioritize other things.

Through no fault of his own, Nek had to spend less time than planned on colors, and instead on another project that you'll all learn about very soon. So instead he did the flats, then I did the renders. This meant I didn't reach my goal with KH4, but it means KH3 is on track still, so in the end it works out.

Plus, having Nek flat the pages made rendering pretty quick anyways, in comparison to doing the full thing myself, so it was a big help. Not sure on the timeline of KH4 at the moment, right now I'm putting all of my effort into the KH3 campaign that starts this month, KH4 can be dealt with after.

Now, let's look at a few samples from Kindred Heavens Book Three:

Hunter is still going smoothly! Lonnie's working hard as ever. Here are some samples of unfinished pages. They still need colored, but they're awesome!
