OVERVIEW

Panties are the main weapon of choice by the Panty Mafia. They grant their wearers unbelievable power and are the main reason for the Panty Mafia’s stranglehold on Panty’s Landing.

BIOGRAPHY

Panties were created by Daring Derek, a former mascot for the peanut company “Big Nuts” and a brilliant scientist who had every crime in the book thrown at him after getting caught wearing ten pairs of panties at once. He was promptly locked in the Bowels and forgotten about, but he didn’t particularly mind. Being shunned by the world just meant that he could finally pursue his true dream—creating magical panties.

To him, panties were the superior form of underwear. Boxers were too loose, briefs were too tight, and panties fit just right. But if he was seen wearing them, he’d be scrutinized! And so he always wanted to create a pair of panties that would grant incredible powers, believing that would coax everyone into wearing a pair! His luck truly turned around when he discovered pools of radioactive waste hidden in the bowels. Dunk something into them and they would be transformed forever.

And so, using rat-skin and radioactive waste, he fashioned hundreds of panties. Just when he felt he had enough to convince the people on his home island to adopt his “Panty Way”, however, something happened. He stumbled into two lonely teddy bears, remnants of another prisoner whose life had long since passed, and began talking to them. See, he hadn’t ever been very popular, and it was good to vent to someone. But he knew they couldn’t understand him, and that they weren’t truly alive. So, one day, he dunked them into the radioactive pool, breathing life into them, creating Bon and Kern.

They would be incredibly close for a while, with him raising them like a father and teaching them how to fight using the panties. Eventually he shifted his attention from stitching panties to stitching stuffed animals, deciding he didn’t need those people back home because he already had plenty of friends here. Bon and Kern, though, were selfish bastards. The more their family grew, the more friends Derek had, the less time he spent with them. It wasn’t long before they betrayed him, convincing the other animals that he was just using them and breaking out of The Bowels without him.

Afterward, the Panty Mafia continued to create these super-powered panties, even enhancing them in ways Derek never thought possible. But they pursued the opposite of his goal, hoarding these panties to themselves and using them to assert their dominance over everyone else. These days, panties are nothing more than a weapon, and possessing a pair means you strike fear in the hearts of your enemies…

PRODUCTION TRIVIA

-There was originally a story involving Kern, Lucia, and Max that had nothing to do with panties at all! It was solely about Lucia trying to get back her brother’s teddy bear from an evil circus dude. It was an entirely different vibe, but that's where we got all these characters from!

-In the first draft of this version of the story, Kern and Bon actually discovered the Panties through “Panty Plants” hidden deep in a forest.

-Originally only Kern and Bon had panties, I think. Eventually one of us said the words “Panty Mafia” and from there we sorta knew it had to become the whole gimmick of the story.
