[Marvel's Magic Master] Chapter 271: The Marauder’s Map

After leaving the Headmaster’s office, it was already noon. He had lunch in the Great Hall, attended his afternoon classes as usual, and then used the Time-Turner to return to midday, heading to the Forbidden Forest far from the castle to practice magic.

The Dementors could stop young wizards, but they couldn’t stop him.

Besides, his trips outside the school for magical practice had been personally authorized by Dumbledore, so he wasn’t violating any school rules.

If the Dementors dared to stand in his way, he wouldn’t hesitate to kill them, and even the Ministry of Magic wouldn’t have much to say about it.

He practiced various spells until evening, returned to Hogwarts for dinner, and then spent his time in his dormitory reading magic books.

At night, he usually avoided studying in the common room since that was prime time for students of all years to gather, chat, and have fun. He wouldn’t be able to focus, and worse, he’d become the center of attention.

Being too exceptional was a burden in itself.

At ten o’clock, he turned the Time-Turner once again, returning to 5 PM to continue his magic practice in the Forbidden Forest.

Around 9:30, as he made his way back to the castle, he passed by the greenhouse and plucked a leaf from a mandrake, placing it in his mouth—it just so happened to be a full moon tonight.

As he entered the castle, preparing to return to the Slytherin dormitory, he unexpectedly ran into the Weasley twins in the entrance hall.

Ordinarily, George wouldn’t have paid them any mind. The Weasley twins sneaking out at night and breaking school rules was nothing unusual. He wasn’t a professor, so it wasn’t his concern.

However, this time, he stopped in his tracks.

Because this time, the Weasley twins were holding a map—one that had revealed his location.

“Huh? It’s George! George is right near us—he’s over there!”

The twins suddenly turned toward him, pinpointing his exact location despite his Invisibility Charm.

Seeing that he had been discovered, George lifted the spell voluntarily and greeted them with a smirk.

“Good evening. You do know that wandering around this late is against school rules, don’t you?”

“Breaking school rules is normal for us. But we never thought you would be sneaking around too, George. Looks like we’re the same kind of people.”

The twins laughed as they approached, clearly admiring his rebellious streak.

George, however, was more interested in the parchment in their hands.

“What’s that? It can even see through my Invisibility Charm?”

Of course, he already knew exactly what it was—the Marauder’s Map, a magical artifact created through alchemy by Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black, and James Potter.

It not only displayed all the secret passages the four had discovered through their Animagus transformations but also accurately tracked the movements of every wizard inside the castle.

Moreover, it was enchanted with a bit of sentience, allowing it to mock Severus Snape, their old school rival.

The map alone was proof of the extraordinary magical talent of its creators.

Though it was originally made for pranks, it contained numerous high-level spells, making it one of the most advanced magical tools in existence.

Hogwarts was no ordinary place—it was filled with powerful enchantments and magical defenses. Yet, the Marauder’s Map could track the exact location of anyone within the castle.

It wasn’t limited to specific individuals either—it could even detect animals, such as Filch’s cat.

Even Dumbledore wasn’t exempt.

If used for security purposes, it would be far more effective than any modern surveillance system.

In the Muggle world, even if a place was covered with security cameras, someone could sneak in undetected by transforming into a mosquito or using an invisibility cloak.

But on the Marauder’s Map, there was no hiding.

There was no way George was going to let such a valuable item slip through his fingers.

Not because he wanted to spy on Hogwarts students—he was interested in studying the spells and alchemical techniques behind the map.

With that knowledge, he could create similar magical artifacts in other worlds.

“This is quite the treasure.”

The Weasley twins tapped their wands on the parchment.

“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”

In an instant, thin lines of ink spread like a spider’s web from the point where their wands touched, interweaving and extending to the edges of the parchment.

Then, in elegant green script, words appeared:

"Messrs. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs, purveyors of aids to magical mischief-makers, are proud to present… The Marauder’s Map!"

The words faded, and a detailed map of Hogwarts appeared, dotted with tiny moving figures.

“Cool, huh? We found this in Filch’s drawer back in our first year—right after we threw a Dungbomb in the hallway.”

Excited, the twins began recounting their daring first-year exploits against Filch.

But before they could finish, they suddenly fell silent.

Filch and his cat were patrolling the second floor, heading straight for the entrance hall. If they stayed any longer, they’d be caught.

“We need to hide in a secret passage—”

“No need for that.”

George grabbed the twins by the arms and pulled them into the mirror in the hall, vanishing into the Mirror Realm.

“Whoa—what kind of spell is this? We’ve never heard of it!”

The Weasley twins marveled at the inverted, reflected version of Hogwarts, then turned toward Filch, who had just entered the hall.

He was right in front of them—yet completely unaware of their presence.

Their eyes practically sparkled with excitement.

If they could learn this spell, their prank game would reach a whole new level.

Just imagine—after pranking Filch, they could watch his furious reaction up close without ever being caught.

They could even use a magical camera to capture the moment.

“This is the Hungarian Mirror World spell—something I invented myself.”

Once Filch was gone, George led the twins back into the normal castle.

Dumbledore had believed the fabricated explanations he had given before and had advised him not to reveal too much to others to avoid unnecessary chaos.

So from now on, whenever he cast magic that didn’t exist in this world, he would simply claim it was a new spell of his own creation.

“Want to learn it? I can teach you.”

His voice was laced with temptation.

The twins eagerly nodded like pecking chickens.

“Yes!”

“Alright. But I have one condition—you’ll have to trade me that Marauder’s Map.”

George smiled.
