I've gotten started looking at all of these files before the poll was over, since this is a project I've been looking forward to and it was getting the most votes. There are -a lot- of files and objects. I've just taken some screenshots in Blender of some of the pieces (this is by far not everything, there are a whopping 66 files like what you see above), so everyone can get a better idea of how these "location" sets are done. There are structure pieces, and grouped pieces for all of the contents, and lots & lots of image files for the textures. Many are all plopped together on one large image, so when liberating smaller items I like to make a new image file, cropped, & where detail has been improved if possible, so the size of the image makes more sense, this helps not to bloat the files too much.
This museum wing has so many items in it, but a lot of them are used multiple times in the plant category. I just have to start making, and try to avoid making any doubles. I think for part 1, I will start with plant items and see where we end up. (There are 2 palm trees from these meshes that I made & included in Part 2 of the Paradise Planning set) I'm also going to make the plaques that go on the wall that signify which wing of the museum you're going to.

Here is a walk-through video on youtube (not mine) if anyone wants to just watch and see all of the cute items in this wing.
As you can see in the first collage image, middle row, far left, there are some very cute cattails. I might make a little mini-set out of those and post them as I am working on this set, just because I think they are so cute and it's something I feel we lack for plant decor. I hope everyone is having a nice start to their week ❤️
Update (Monday afternoon):
I went through and just investigated what is in each mesh file, and tried to improve all of the images that I could, while sifting through and seeing which meshes do or might go with which image textures. Now I've started on the plaques, here is a preview of the art wing plaque in game. There are only 4 of these, and they are general museum items that go in the hallway, so I am going to post these as soon as they are finished so they can be used & will keep updating our set WIP here 🪲 🌺
Update (Tuesday morning):
Made 2 versions of the colorful little leaf plant, a small version and a larger version, they have 3 swatches.
Update (Tuesday noon):
Added these 2 bushes, I believe they are hibiscus without the blooms & trunks showing.
Update (Tuesday afternoon):
Added 2 more shrubs but I forgot to get a pic of them 🙃, 2 agave plants, 2 lobster claw plants (added extra swatches), and a rock (added extra swatch).
Update (Tuesday afternoon):
Added a preview of the 2 shrubs. Made 2 ferns with 2 swatches, the original swatch was very bright so I made a second, darker one. Added the marigold in 2 swatches, 3 versions of the sago palm, and 2 monstera plants. Added the flamingo flower with some extra swatches.
Update (Tuesday early evening):
Added the orchid, with some extra swatches (shown above), the bench (functional) with a couple extra swatches, and the entrance planters with shrubs in them. We are at 24 items so far! I am going to take a little break, make some dinner and rest my eyes from the screen a bit. I might come back to it later tonight, if not I'll continue tomorrow. I hope you like how everything is coming along! & ❤️ I hope you all are having a nice day.
Update (Tuesday night):
Added 3 more items: sedges (the spikey one), and two ground leaf objects. Added extra swatches to the ground leaves.
Update (Wednesday early afternoon):
After doing groceries today (I walk so it takes me a bit), I got back to our set. I added another larger version of the sedges, 3 more ground leaves items, a log, and the heart leaf flower. I added extra swatches for the flower and will be adding a second version with just 1 flower instead of 3 of them.
Update (Wed. afternoon):
Added 2 more versions of the heart leaf: one single flower with leaves, and one that is just the leaves. No footprint on these. Added the oak tree, with two trunk swatches, and the stump in the same swatches. The tree stump has slots.
Update (Wed early 0evening):
Added another rock (forgot to take a pic), and a second version of the oak tree, with a honeycomb on it. Added a large vines item with leaves on it, and 2 wall leaf decor objects. 42 items so far!
Update (Wed. evening):
Added the giant oak tree, it is only seen from the front in ACNH, and like some other items has leaves and more detail only in the front (shown above). So I have a question about this item: Should I add leaves to the back? It is already fairly high-poly at 4945 polygons, adding a double of the upper leaf part will increase the polycount by quite a bit. Let me know! ☺️ I am going to take a little break again like yesterday, it's time to get dinner ready and it's really good if I rest my eyes after working on these things for many hours. Like yesterday, I might come back to it later tonight, otherwise will continue tomorrow ❤️
Update (Wed. night):
I got some things ready for making tomorrow, above is a preview picture of the mangrove meshes all together in blender. I will start with these tomorrow morning and probably some cattails after those. It's after 10 PM for me now, so I need to start winding down for bedtime. I hope you're all having a nice day, and I hope you like how part 1 of our set is coming along! ❤️
Update (Thursday early evening):
Added the first mangrove tree: thoughts on the size? Should it be bigger? I am going to make all 6 of these since they are all quite different. Above is a preview, and a pic of the back side, like the giant oak tree it does not have leaves in the back as it is meant to be seen only from the front in ACNH.
Update (Thursday night):
Added 3 more mangrove trees. I looked at them pretty quickly last night before going to bed, but when I looked at them today (shown in Blender above) I realized that there are only 2 shapes of these trees. So I made 4 total, a larger and a slightly smaller version of each. It's been a long day, I've had to tend to a lot of things IRL, so tomorrow I will make cattails, do a double check and make sure I haven't missed any plants (that go in the ground, potted plants are for part 2 at another time) and I am hoping to post part 1 tomorrow.
Update (Friday noon):
This morning I remembered that we indeed have some lily pads for plant items, so I got the original meshes ready for those, & I've been working on the cattails. Above is a long cluster of them. I re-positioned a few of them and I added a second swatch for the fuzzy part of the plant, to have a darker brown. Looking at them, though, they just look so big. They are supposed to be tall, but not so thick, and the brown part of the plant is not supposed to be that big. I am tweaking this mesh a little and then making more variations of the item.
Update (Friday early afternoon):
Adjusted the meshes of these cattails, I think they look much better now in reference to the sim's size. Here are a couple preview pics in game with them placed in the little river I used to display the bridges from the bridges set.
Update (Friday afternoon):
Added more cat tails (another group and single items), there are a total of 7 cattail items. Moving on to the lily pads.
Update (Friday early evening):
Added 5 lily pad items that can go on water surfaces. Added an extra swatch for each.
Update (Friday early evening):
Added one more item to make our part 1 an even 60 items. It is the ground lamp that you see throughout the bug museum next to trees and plants. I made 3 swatches for the light part of the object (more for the look when it is not on) and a black swatch for each of those, 6 swatches total. I'm now working on the preview images for the post! ❤️
