Here are the beginnings of the 4th and final Museum Fossils set. I liberated this display table from the building structure and edited the mesh to make more sense next to Sims. The fossil on top is one I already made for the Altar Set Earth items, but I am remaking the few items I did for that one, for this set. I want them to be different. Larger, for one thing. The one in the image above (from the linked set) has been upsized with the keyboard cheat. I added one more swatch to the table that is a little bit lighter, since it's so very dark. One slot for all 3 slot size items, so anything can be placed on the table.
Update (continued):
Added 2 displays with information pamphlets and papers, and a doorway sign. The sign has two swatches, there is another sign in this building with a different picture. I fixed it also, so that one side doesn't have a backwards image.
Update (late Wednesday night):
Added the emergency exit sign from the building structure. The sign area within the frame glows when the lights are off. I did a few different swatches, one brighter, and one to make a "cleaner" look for those who would like that.
Update (continued):
Added 3 more fossil items: the ammonoidea, trilobite, and australopithecus.
Update (continued):
Added 3 more fossil items: the acanthostega (first four legs), myllokunmingia (first fish), and coprolite (fossilized 💩, believe it or not!) I might be taking a break for tonight on these since it's almost 5 am for me. Very excited to continue tomorrow!
Update (Thursday afternoon):
Here is the amber with the mosquito inside. I did 2 different swatches for the amber part, one of them has a little bit of a pattern since the original image texture was just a small square of one color. I made them big enough to actually see the mosquito inside, the smaller version in the Earth Alter items set (linked above) you can't really see him.
Update (continued):
Added the Dinosaur Track item, it is a flat slab-type of shape, as the rest of the fossils left to make are shaped as. I've added a stand to the back of it so it can be displayed on any surface, and tilted it so it's at a bit of an angle.
Update (continued):
Added the Anomalocaris, Archaeopteryx, and another pedestal item made of wood which I tried my best to match the other wooden bases of the fossil items from the other sets. The original swatch was just black/dark gray, so I added some wooden ones.
Update (continued):
Added the Shark Tooth Pattern fossil, the eusthenopteron, and the glass cloche that goes on some of the table displays. The little crab is from the Grocery Set. Made a wall object with a red light. Added a rubber floor, and the standing models of the shark and the Coelacanth prehistoric fish. 24 items so far! The seashell under the cloche in the picture with the shark/fish is from the Mermaid Set.
Update (Friday afternoon):
I had some family things going on yesterday, so I got back to everything as soon as I could. Last night I liberated this vent from the building structure, and tried making it a new image and remapping. It has a weird lightness on the left side of the vents, so I put it back with it's original mapping and image, but it is still there. If I remove any shine, it will also remove detail. I'm going to try one more thing and leave it at what looks best for the final of this item. Then I will be able to start getting pics for the post ☺️ I have the meteor ceiling object that I also liberated and have been trying to make, it's a little more complicated and I don't want this last item taking me forever and prolonging the wait, so I will post it on its own once I get it right.
Set has been posted. The meteor ceiling object has been included, but I might go back to it soon and try some things to make it better.
