I wanted to make some items for the holiday season that one might find when visiting grandma, and they could also be useful for thrift shops and vintage shops. Here is what I have so far! Note that image textures have not yet been improved. I adjusted the meshes like usual to fit sims instead of the little characters from Animal Crossing. The phone was square, while very cute it's not what they actually look like, so I edited the mesh on this item as well. If anyone wants the original box-shaped one, please let me know, I will add a second version if people want it.
Update (Friday afternoon):
I've been adding more items since this morning, and improved image textures for all of the items. Added the bureau, a side table with a doily on top (image to be added), a wall clock, an envelope with wax stamp decor item, and the patchwork chair (which I love!) I hope everyone likes how this set is coming along ☺️
Update (Friday early evening):
Added the vanity table, a dining table version of the acnh table item (also the base for the coffee table), desk, and cuckoo clock.
Update (Friday evening):
Since someone asked about the blue furniture set from a different AC game, (one I would like to convert from but I haven't got it working yet) I realized I could sort of recreate some of the items by recoloring certain wooden things. I added a blue swatch to the grandfather clock. While it doesn't have the diamond shape, it might suffice for the start of a blue furniture collection when I come across things I can use. I added a functional bed, and a little clear glass vase with a rose in it. I did this one myself from an EA object, and has lots of swatches.
Update (late Friday night):
Added a single bed. I am still figuring things out when it comes to seamlessly functional bed conversions. I've been using one as a base where the sim does not go under a blanket. I have it working perfectly on the double bed. The single bed has a bit of a goofy animation when the sim gets in and out, but the sim can sleep under the covers. This is one of the items that only had one swatch, so I added a couple more. Added the antique radio as a functional radio, the sewing machine as a table with lots of slots, a wardrobe closet, also slotted on top, and a spinning wheel decor object. I have also made the retro record stereo, but do not have a preview pic of it yet. 27 items so far!
Update (middle of the night):
Added some more items, image previews above. I am hoping to be able to post this set tomorrow, it's almost done ☺️
Update (Saturday evening):
I finally got the rest of the items added since this morning. There are a few conversions from TS2 (that I did also improve the textures on like the rest of the items, they just look so much more crisp in game). I made from TS2 the Seasons Flag for outside the house, the "walk in the park" wall painting, and I used the gorgeous frame of that painting to make a wall mirror. I also revisited the little misting bottle that was included in the Reiki Set, I made the bottom part of the bottle transparent glass and gave it some pretty recolors. I thought it looked nice next to all the plants! I will leave the original in the other set, of course, just in case people would still like the opaque one for recoloring. I used the coffee table mesh to add a tall, skinny hallway/window table, and also a wall shelf for displaying all of grandma & grandpa sims' trinkets and memories. I used the round accent table to make a smaller, taller nightstand table. I also added the covered wagon (I made this item for use in the Simstober Challenge) and an outdoor water pump, because why not! & I made a little toy train to put on the shelf display if you like! It follows a little theme I have going with the crop circle carpet and the sewing things. I added a couple more rugs as well. I included a preview pic of the living room of this house I've been decorating with all of the items, to give a little somewhat incomplete overview. Now just to get preview and swatch pics of everything for the post!
