Solstice: a reverie on light

Watch Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U42NyDm1XGw

the true heart

does not

speak in words

its language

a symphony

of color

your heart

as a child

of the sun

falls silent

on the longest night

folds upon itself

like a blanket

and descends

the thin voice

of your heart’s shell

groans

i cannot bear it

i can’t survive this

as the dead-eyed

memories

of loss

and regret

press

their slack mouths

against

its skin

with the morning chorus

manned

by stout cardinals

the miracle

returns

undeserved

and pristine

we rise

like the sun

surprised

the darkness

did not win

why are we surprised?

were we not made

from the ashes

of dionysus?

we

the sons and daughters

of Mithra

beloved of christ

how is it

we forget

the light

though

it is the fabric

of our being?
