Finally a good romance!

Good day! I came to you with a post about a manga, this time a romantic one. The first one is Versailles no Bara!

Versailles no Bara has long been considered a classic and has inspired more than one famous mangaka. The manga itself is about the French Revolution, its preconditions and, of course, love.

For me, Versailles no Bara was like a breath of fresh air in the shoujo genre. I was really bored with the same predictable love stories within the school, so I was only glad for such a classic and even theatrical romance in the spirit of Romeo and Juliet.

However, the most interesting thing was to observe the behavior of Marie Antoinette, the whipping up of moods among the common people and the choice that one of the main character, Oscar, will have to make.

I'd recommend this manga to both fans of stories with historical figures and to any other reader who is not afraid to read the manga of the seventies.

Suddenly for myself, I also read Ouran Koukou Host Club!

Like many others, I started my acquaintance with the anime and, to be honest, I liked it more than the manga. Everything in the anime just screamed the production was done by studio Bones: incredible animation, unusual staging with a sharp perspective, great voices choice and a rather crumpled ending that wasn't in the original.

I'd also like to note the work of the sound director and composer, whose soundtrack I liked back in Hunter x Hunter and Death Note. Each song sounded incredible and every time at the most suitable moment for it!

As for the manga, everything was fine exactly as long as the author didn't change the vector of the narrative towards romance. The romance here is not impressive and is pretty predictable from the start. Many situations have been brought to the point of absurdity. Yes, it was done for the sake of humor, but by the end of the manga, it was very tiring.

But I'll definitely rewatch the anime sometime in the future!

And finally, Umarekawattemo Mata, Watashi to Kekkon shitekuremasu ka. Despite the long name, this is not an isekai!

This is an incredibly touching story about an elderly couple of lovers who throughout the manga indulge in memories of their youth.

The manga also touched upon pre-war Japan, the use of servants and cruel treatment towards them, life below the poverty line, the omiai culture, and, finally, World War II. Believe it or not, I cried 11 chapters out of 22.

That's all! Traditionally I want to say thank you for reading to the end, have a nice day!

Finally a good romance!
