February 2024 Production Udate

Production on the next two 50 Ways to Die in Minecraft videos, one about RL Craft and one about Create+, is still underway. I’m planning to release them to the public in early June this year, although anyone reading this will get to see them early if I finish them before that.
Last month, I said that I was done making clips for both videos and would begin working on a new element that I want to add to new 50 Ways videos, which was a new Master-of-Ceremonies type character who delivers dark comedy poems in the gaps between montages. So how’s that going?
Well, before I could start working on the poems, I realized when I came back from my Christmas/New Years break that I needed to do a bit more work on a part of the Create+ video. In the Create+ video, there’s going to be a mini story-arc-type-thing that’s going to tie a bunch of the clips together and it will begin with an inciting incident scene. When I was writing last month’s production update, I was so close to finishing that scene that I didn’t think it was worth bringing it up, so I didn’t mention it.
But over the holidays, I thought of a much better idea for how to make the dialogue in that scene seem more natural, so I decided to rewrite the script, which also meant re-recording the dialogue and re-editing the scene, so finishing the story-arc intro scene took a lot longer than I thought it would. As a result, I only started working on the funny poem bits about a week-and-a-half ago. As I write this, I’ve finished writing and voicing all the poems and have just finished modeling and texturing the basic version of the new poet character. I still need to rig and animate the character delivering the poems and edit them into clips for the final edit of each video. So that’s how I’m going to start February. After the poem bits are done, I’ll work on the final edits of both videos.
It’d be great if I could finish these 50 Ways videos before March, and that stills seems possible. I’d like to finish them sooner rather than later to give myself as much time as I can to make a 3rd big video for June.
