Poetry Reading of "Sonnet"

Though it came to me later in life, I really appreciate poetry.

I was first introduced to Richard Brautigan in college. Trout Fishing in America was required reading for the brief period that I was an English major. That's a funny thing to think about: the idea that I thought anything other than art could produce the kind of satisfaction that I get from making, creating, and being art. I was insecure about my ability to make art.

It seems that writing and art have made a full circle in my life. I now see the artistic merit of poetry.

I'm awed at how Richard Brautigan can use so few words to express so much. And I long to use words like I use a paintbrush. So I'll keep on reading it and sharing it and trying to write it!

Visually, I attempted to give my video of this reading a ghostlike quality. I hope you enjoy it!
