Added 2022-04-07 20:26:09 +0000 UTCI spoke a bit about Pop Art in my update yesterday, and I've already begun working on executing my first piece! It was a movement that began way back in the 1950s, and really changed how and what we see as art today. This painting of the Netflix "N" is intended to look a little less neat and pristine than the one that pops up on my television. I want as many shades of black and red as I can mix, and each brush stroke to stand out from the previous. In other words, I want it to look like a painting. Taking everyday images from pop culture and creating them as art is the very point of the Pop Art movement. I'm having fun with it! Painting with brush strokes this way is very calming in its repetition. A whole new way to "Netflix and Chill!"
