My Grandmothers' Hands

My grandmothers were incredible women. I can't imagine all the things that they endured, but I think of them often. I find myself doing things on a fairly regular basis that I know they would have been familiar with. Cooking, cleaning, gardening, even painting or crocheting.  My mother's mother was the first to give me my own set of paints! I still have the wooden case that she sent me when I was a girl. it was filled with oil paints and canvas boards turpentine and linseed oil. I wonder if her intention was to provide me with a life long hobby, or if she hoped for something bigger.

Here, a little tribute to the beautiful ladies that came before me.
