On the easel

BOOM! I’d previously posted/talked about Saturday morning cartoons. They were definitely an early introduction to art, whether I realized it or not. It was the first time that I ever realized that sounds could have a visual form! The landscapes, animals, and themes were familiar. Especially those of the Wile E. Coyote shorts. Having been called coyote from an early age, I couldn’t help but empathize with his plight. So much so that I often found his cartoons rather frustrating!

Watching them now, I am overcome by the self destructive nature of the coyote. Besides, what would he ever do if he were to actually eat his only companion?

This is the first of what I intend to be many “explosive” paintings! And an exercise in reflecting on my own self sabotaging tendencies!

BOOM! Is the concept of lighting a stick of dynamite and other poorly conceived plans!

It get's sooooo much deeper too! It is sad, but I will also be exploring other aspects as well.
