When Inspiration Strikes...

"They Call Me Coyote", as a series of work has a lot of aspects at play, I think often about resurrection and renewal. So when inspiration strikes, even as a fraction of an idea, I jump!

The first photo is from the internet, a photo of a significant discovery of a relief of Aztec goddess, Coyolxāuhqui. Her broken body memorialized. I saw it for the first time just a few months ago. The image is powerful, and stuck with me. So as far as the source of compositional inspiration, I accredit it fully to this image.

The thoughts that have twisted in my brain about this project have several sources of inspiration, though. In addition to my own thoughts and desire to express it! I've previously mentioned my connection to Saturday morning cartoons, Wile E. Coyote in particular. Also (new to my awareness) is a comic book called "Animal Man". In particular, comic #5 in the series (more on that at a later date!). Yes, it involves a particular coyote!

It all ties in, and I'm sharing this aspect as it comes: in a stream of consciousness kind of way.

The creative juices are flowing and I HAD to shoot these photos!
