That's right! Lithuanian language is rich in suffixes that express smallness. The lake could also be called Gėjelis, Gėjytis, Gėjutis, Gėjulis, or Gėjužis, and it would also mean Little Gay.

🏕️😁👍
Also, looking it up on Google, I think the local LGBTQIA+ community is using it quite well. 🙌
It is also a bird preserve, so you will get to birdwatch plenty. 🐦🦆🦉🐦⬛

Bird Preserve = telmologinis draustinis (telmological preserve, telmological = relating to avian species/birds)
From what I found, use of the suffix '-kas' is like the English '-let'/'-ling' to refer to something small/a child.
E.g.
= Lithuanian =
- šuo (m) = Dog
- šuniukas (m) = Puppy
= English =
- Wing (large wing) and Winglet (tiny wing)
- Duck and Duckling (baby duck)
So 'Gèjus' and 'Gèjukas' might be like saying 'Gay' and 'Gaylet/Gayling'.

What is this about naming places? I mean there was once a place in Austria called Fucking. And only when the Americans where there they got to know what that means. They have, some years ago, changed the name.
