Chapter 123: Dual Realm Mountain

A long time ago, the Celestials and the Demons fought each other. Heaven and earth were destroyed, and gave rise to the three thousand worlds, each with its own rich spiritual energy.

Among the celestial beings, there was once a powerful war goddess. Tempted by the demons, she led the Heavens Eye Celestial Clan onto a path of no return. The Heavens Eye Clan possessed the ability to peek into the Heavenly Order, making them the greatest adversary of the Demon Realm. As a result, they were sealed within the battlefield that is the Dual Realm Mountain, a place where the demonic creatures bred through negative emotions between heaven and earth-- of resentment, anger, murderousness, and hatred.

The Dual Realm Mountain is the foundation of the Demon Realm, as it absorbed all the negative emotions between heaven and earth to nurture the demonic creatures. If the Dual Realm Mountain were to be destroyed, the Demon Realm would cease to exist. The ruler of the Demon Realm had used the power of this Mountain to eradicate the Heavens Eye Clan.

Despite their ability to peek into the Heavenly Order and break through any formation in the world, they could not break free from the Dual Realm Mountain. It was not a formation or a barrier, but a place filled with boundless resentment. Only the strongest power could break through it.

They could only wait for rescue, but it never came.

"I can't go on any longer. I don't want to become a demonic creature. If you manage to escape alive, please tell my family, that I love them dearly." One of the clan members fell, his body stiff, but his eyes remained bright as ever. The Heavens Eye Celestials placed great importance on their eyes, as it was the essence of their existence and the last memento of their affection for their loved ones.

"I can't hold on any longer. Please help me deliver my eyes to my wife."

Inside the Dual Realm Mountain, there was no spiritual energy, only demonic energy and the constant breeding of negative emotions, causing the rapid decline of the Heavens Eye Celestials. They didn't want to become demonic creatures or feed the Demon Realm. Many of them chose to end their lives when they felt they couldn't bear it anymore, leaving behind their resplendent and radiant eyes, hoping that someone would take them out of the Two Realms Mountain.

"I can't hold on any longer..."

One after another, people fell, until only Su Moxuan remained. He was adorned with countless colorful eye stones, each one dazzling and brilliant. They were entrusted to him by his clan members. He was carrying the smallest spark of hope from the warriors of his clan before they died, but it was also the most intense obsession.

After an unknown period of time, he looked around and realized there were no more living beings around him.

He couldn't hold on any longer. Who should he entrust them to? His family was waiting for him at home. They made a promise that he must return home, so he persisted until the end. He couldn't die just like this, without leaving a single word for her.

But this was the Dual Realm Mountain, and he couldn't survive. He couldn't go on any longer.

Within the black mist, Su Moxuan held those radiant eye stones, shaking, his voice trembling as he asked, "Is there anyone else in here?"

Who else could send our message? Who could deliver these words to our friends and family?

No one answered.

Who else?

No one, only himself.

How could he avoid death? In this world, even gods could perish. Only demonic creatures can be immortal, as long as there is resentment, envy, and slaughter in the world. Even if the demonic creatures are completely eradicated, they will rise again from the ashes.

This is the ultimate punishment from the heavens for those evil beings. When the grievances and killings in one realm become too heavy, demonic creatures will emerge, either destroying the entire world or being sealed once again. If it is the former, and the demonic creatures eliminate all living beings, they will eventually lose their sustenance and fall into slumber once more.

The cycle of Heavenly Order repeats itself; the curtains lift once again.

He wanted to survive, but the only way was to become a demon, to become a demonic creature. There would come a day when he would be reborn.

There was no spiritual energy in the Dual Realm Mountain, nor was there any food. Becoming a demonic creature was not an instant process. He, as a member of the Heavens Eye Celestial Clan, had no idea how to become a true demonic creature. Not a practitioner of the Demonic Path or demonic cultivation, but a complete demonic creature.

He was hungry, so hungry that he felt disoriented. He was about to die.

The flesh and blood of the celestials contained abundant spiritual energy. In order to survive, he resorted to cannibalism. He cut the meat from the corpses, chunk after chunk, and consumed them bit by bit. Day after day, he persisted, undergoing a gradual transformation.

He embraced the darkness.

One day, the resentment in the Dual Realm Mountain suddenly vanished. And he, who'd been growing stronger and stronger, suddenly became extremely weak. Then he knew nothing more.

It was not until many ages later that he woke up once again.

After awakening, he had finally become a true demonic creature. However, perhaps due to his divine heritage, he retained some of his former consciousness. He had forgotten many things, but he remembered those colorful eye stones. And Yun-niang, waiting for him at home.

The Dual Realm Mountain had returned to the Demon Realm, while the ancient battlefield where he found himself in, was filled with the remains of many celestials. The spiritual energy in that realm was rich, like paradise.

He wasn't completely ignorant. He understood the ways of a bloodthirsty demonic creature, but he desired a human body, and he longed to return home. Using the abundant spiritual energy of this paradise-like realm, he created an enchanting Immortal Palace. However, the creation of an Immortal Palace consumed all his energy, forcing him into a deep sleep.

Yes, he was a demonic creature. So how could he possess consciousness and create an Immortal Palace? It was a defiance against the natural order, and the events that followed were beyond his control.
