Chapter 119: Brother

With the spiders guiding the way out of the forest, they encounter no obstacles along the journey. Surprisingly, the haunted forest where Xiao Mei had wandered around aimlessly, and couldn't fly out of, doesn’t take them long to reach its end. Outside, Su Tingyun sees a rockery and a pond.

Before her are numerous lotus ponds, varying in size and enclosed by various shapes. The artificial mounds in the ponds are unique, the stones emitting colorful lights.

Under the sunlight, the golden carp's scales turn colorful, resembling the stones on the rockery. The carp itself is brimming with spiritual energy. It seems like it’s a spiritual beast. It gives people the illusion that it’s a fish leaping over the Dragon Gate, about to transform into a dragon. However, there is no Dragon Gate here for it to cross. Why is it continuously jumping out of the water like that? Could the water be too hot?

Su Tingyun observes that the golden carp seems to be in pain and discomfort. She checks the pond water and even sticks her hand in to stir it, but she finds nothing unusual. She also scans the carp with her divine sense and sees that it isn’t injured. Only then does Su Tingyun leave. However, as she’s about to depart, Big Bai, as a pearl, jumps straight onto a lotus leaf, rolling around on it like a water droplet, appearing very delighted.

The lotus leaf is quite large, and Big Bai really likes it, so Su Tingyun picks some leaves for it. Since Big Bai has become smaller, it doesn’t stick the leaves on its head but instead, it hides them in its stomach. After collecting them, Big Bai obediently returns to being a necklace around Su Tingyun's neck.

Su Tingyun continues to move forward, and when she is still more than ten zhang away from the bridge, she finally realizes what that peculiar feeling is.

She is hungry.
