Chapter 098: Misunderstanding

     There were several hundred thousand people in Jinxiu City. Thousands of people died this time, and tens of thousands were injured.

     Two nearby Tribulation Transcendents have come, and there are quite a few people on Nascent Soul, all to provide aid for Jinxiu City. Dan Biqing and his disciples have also rushed to the city by evening. They distribute pills to the cultivators in the city, heal everyone's injuries, and order within the city is quickly restored.

     Wang Ningxi has a high status in the Wang family, and is also a well-known beauty in Jinxiu City. She is well taken care of, but unexpectedly, Master Dan has come to see her in person.

     This is not the first time she’s seeing the Alchemy Ancestor. Master Dan’s appearance is middle-aged, still very handsome, with defined brows and eyes. He usually looks very cultured, and there’s always a gentle smile on his face that makes people think that he is not that mysterious and majestic. But Wang Ningxi had only ever seen him from afar, and this is the closest they’ve ever been. Wang Ningxi feels that the way Master Dan looks at her is very strange— it’s similar to the way the female demon looked at her before.

     "Are you alright?" Dan Biqing examines Wang Ningxi, "It's good if you’re alright."

     "Do you need my help with anything?" he asks again.

     Wang Ningxi glances at Meow-Meow on the side, who’s bandaged up like a rice wrap and is yowling in pain. She summons up her courage and says, "My Meow-Meow is very unwell." His injuries are too heavy, the bones in his entire body were broken by that palm strike. Even after taking the spiritual energy pill, it will take a long time for his body to recover.

     She voices her request and immediately feels a bit rude for it. Wang Ningxi is about to cup her hands and apologize, only to see that Master Dan is already taking out a pill, then he puts it straight into Meow-Meow’s mouth.

     Wang Ningxi is the shopkeeper of the Wang's family store. Although her cultivation level is poor, her eye for appraisal is excellent. Looking at the light around the Pill, it must be an eighth grade Rejuvenation Pill! And after taking the pill, Meow-Meow immediately gets up, purrs, then squirms a lot to tear and shake off the bandages wrapped around his body. He then butts his head against Wang Ningxi's hand, and proceeds to wag his tail at Dan Biqing.

     Meow-Meow's tail is like a whip— when it flicks, it makes the bed thud.

     Before Dan Biqing could say anything more, the door creaks open, and Liu Feizhou rushes in while carrying a corpse, "Master, please save her."

     Dan Biqing usually cares a lot for  Liu Feizhou. Liu Feizhou is young and very talented in alchemy, and has excellent control over alchemic fire— a man who can be a valuable asset.  Moreover, he has a good heart. Although his mouth can be unpleasant, his daily interactions with other people reveals his moral quality. Dan Biqing has tested him a few times, and finds that Liu Feizhou's character is not bad. Most importantly, he is good-looking and is about the same age as his daughter. Although he hasn’t formally established a relationship with this child, he still hopes that she can grow up well and without mishap. And in the future when she grows up, she can meet a reliable Daoist companion.

     She is his daughter.

     Still his only child.

     So all these years, every time he needed to buy medicinal herbs, or pass any information to Jinxiu City, Dan Biqing would send his young disciple Liu Feizhou there. Meanwhile, he would inform the only Elder of the Wang family who knows of the situation, and ask him to arrange for Wang Ningxi to come and receive him. But regardless of how much he cares for him, and how willing he is to meet this request, he’s brought a dead person and is asking help for her. What kind of idiocy is this?

     He’s a disciple of the great Alchemy Ancestor, a sixth-grade alchemist himself, yet he can't tell whether a person is dead or alive? This person's primordial spirit has been extinguished, there’s no trace of her soul at all. She’s fully dead, how can he save her?

     Dan Biqing looks at his flustered disciple carefully, and is astonished when he sees his red and swollen eyes.

     This apprentice actually cried?

     Dan Biqing glances at the woman in his arms, then to Wang Ningxi on his peripheral. He speaks solemnly: "Liu Feizhou, she is dead."

     Liu Feizhou is followed by Bai Chengyu and Xiao Budian (who has already woken up). The two of them are standing at the door when they hear this. They both jump in shock, especially Xiao Budian, who loudly cries out. He holds Su Tingyun’s arm and doesn’t let go, "Senior Sister, Senior Sister, wake up!"

     Dan Biqing is clearly in the Tribulation Transcendent period, but at that moment, Xiao Budian doesn’t feel scared at all. He turns his head and glares at Dan Biqing, "You’re talking rubbish, my Senior Sister is not dead! Master and the Sect Leader will be here soon, and they will definitely say that Senior Sister is not dead!"
