Neptune 4 Max Deep Dive

Here is my look at the Neptune 4 Max including the issues that I've run into along the way with the machine.

Eagerly awaiting some more nozzle size options for this beast of a 3D Printer!

Also, if you're looking for a new cosplay file patreon you need to checkout https://www.patreon.com/3DCraftsmanshop their Magneto Samurai helmet is just amazing! They also post some zbrush 3D modeling guides which Im going to be jumping back into soon!

Neptune 4 Plus video should be up later in the week!

I have a Neptune 4 Plus. I printed the T-Rex file. Is there a good place to cut it to print it larger on the 4 Plus? I’ve seen some very large articulating dragons on some sites and curious how they cut them to make them so big.

David

Welp, I caved and bought a Neptune 4 max as my wife would never allow me to buy the Giga.... I still need to inform her of the Neptune 4 max purchase... pray for me... Anyways, any other profiles coming for orcaslicer Uncle Jessy? I'm probably going to be printing in ASA., so would love to see one for that material.

subscribe to my site and 2 weeks later no response awesome customer service

Did you have to change printer.cfg numbers? I’m finding a lot of this needed to be adjusted out of the box.

Derek Hunt

i see that your masks have such minimal supports, how did you achieve that? the slicer adds soo many for me and just increases the print time by a lot. especially inside

Daniel Standing

Any chance you will be getting one of those massive Orangestorm Giga printers for review?

Geeko170

Orcs comes with pretty good settings for all n3s and the n4 by default

Martin Westphal

I think what would heaven been helpful was to have the "enclosure" measurements somewhere in the video. Since elegoo outlines them wrong on their website in on of the product comments where someone wants to build an enclosure. I took the measurement you gave in the unboxing video

Martin Westphal

Could the Z-Offset issue be from when you are sending prints from Orca? Have you tried to put the print on the USB and do back-to-back prints? I just had this problem so I will try it next time.

John Rediker

The one I linked above is from Elegoo, but I get the impression they're still working on finalizing it. If you -- like me are impatient and tinker-minded, I recommend it -- if you want stability and to not have to think about things like which algorithm is driving the stepper motors, I'd wait

Zak Jarvis

I have heard a couple of comments about an updated firmware for the Neptune 4 Max. Is that something that is out yet, or something that you are expecting to come out? Thanks.

Steven Young

I have *mostly* fixed my Z-Offset issue using the firmware Alan Mandic posted here: https://github.com/MandicReally/Elegoo_Neptune_4_Max That firmware *does* make my x-axis stepper really buzzy during some medium-fast print moves, but the z-offset has been stable enough for me to not need to re-calibrate between prints.

Zak Jarvis

Will you have Orca settings for the Neptune 3 max?

Tofer Wescott

Where are you guys downloading Orca from ? Tried getting it from github and Windows’s defender flagged it .

Joshua de La Torre

haha no worries! I was just making checking.

Tony

oh whoops! Let me write a note in the video comments. It took an hour longer not an hour less. I think i was thinking the Bambu printer took 1 hour less 🤦‍♂️

Uncle Jessy

same! itching to get a bigger nozzle on this beast!

Uncle Jessy

You say that it makes the helmet in an hour less. but the graphic says its an hour more. Curious which one is correct?

Tony

I've been loving my N4Max. For a printer I bought because I wanted huge prints, it does extremely lovely prints. Really can't wait for 0.6mm nozzles. Ps, thanks for the Orcaslicer configuration!
