Orca Slicer Neptune 4 Max Profiles

Sorry for the delay but I've been testing/tweaking these profiles.

here is the link to the Drive folder which now has an Orca Slicer section
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/5/folders/1ZGaKzV3IeMnJuT64BqtY2T5HXydJYcC1

There are individual files for the Printer, Filament & Settings that I've been using.

I have not built out anything lower than .2 layer height yet for the 4 Max.

One stupidly awesome Orca setting that I didnt know about till recently is the setting called "Make Overhang Printable" thats under the quality tab. This will modify the file you are printing to make it less necessary for supports. Not great for all files but really cool for some organic models like this Massive Eastman Johnny Silverhand Bust.

I will be trying to build out some more filament profiles as I continue to work with this.

Also, these speeds are fast but not super fast. I have been focused on getting quality faster prints over stupidly fast prints. Thats what I will be working on once I'm done with the 4 Max & 4 Plus videos!

N4 Max video up Friday/Sat - N4 Plus video will be up early next week.

I was also told there are more nozzle sizes in the works and should be to the amazon warehouse soon (ish) but who knows when that will really be

Any suggestions please let me know!!

Ok downloaded the N4 max ones for orca....how do i install them though?

AgoraAmory

no, but hes has profiles for the 3

Jerry Wright

using the profiles but for some reason silk pla is really stringy

Jerry Wright

do thes profiles work for neptune 3 max?

Mario Bros

Scratch that. I was able to get them imported in Orca 2. For anyone else, that might be having this issue, I added a custom Klipper Printer and then was able to import the UJ configs and switch to the Print Config / Filament / and nozzle. Now my times are showing very similar to the AnyCubic I would have expected.

Bull and Beans

Hi, UJ. I just joined for these profiles as my Neptune4Max default settings are printing extremely slow. Im not confident tweaking them myself, but as a comparison, a 2hr print on my AnyCubic Kobra2Max is showing 12hrs on my Neptune. However, after downloading the profiles and attempting to import I am showing 0 imported.

Bull and Beans

For some reason I get this error when I try to import the configs "There are 0 configs imported. (Only non-system and compatible configs) Any solutions?

Joshua Jenkins

for whatever reason these profiles no longer with with the new Orca 2.0 update

Chris Nicholson

Tried out the settings on a couple smaller prints, and just fired up a 12 hour guy, and wow! Great job with these. I'm seeing a nice improvement

colten wills

Any chance on some .6 or bigger profiles? I was getting some decent prints with the .4 with the one I built myself, though I am looking forward to trying yours this evening. I tried swapping to the .6 and tuning myself off the default Orca .6 but just couldn't seem to get consistent good prints with it.

colten wills

Yeah it would hit the print but only in infil areas if they were bigger areas, the calibration cube had no problems. But turns out i hadn't selected your printer profile, i had made a process preset somehow with different settings. I'll try again with the printer profile now.

jB

I usually bump up the Support Top Z Distance to .26

Uncle Jessy

Hey hey! Like it’s dragging on the print as it’s printing? It might be that the temp needs to be bumped up slightly or that the printer z hop needs to be increased. Z hop setting is in orca if you click on the edit menu. Next to the printer name. Its under the extruder tab

Uncle Jessy

hey newbie here, im using the orcaslicer profile and im getting a lot of dragging on a biggger piece, what do i do?

jB

Hey! Just got this profile. Wondering if there's any changes to be done if I wanna try out SUNLU PLA+?

Kevin Lavoie

Currently doing the same start g code. I haven’t had anybody give me a pointer on what to change it to. I’ll mess around with the start g code again and figure it out myself. I’ll let you know if I find the proper solution.

Tory Larsen

When my prints starts in the home position it’s so hot it just constantly extrudes filament waiting for the bed to get to temp do you have the same issue

Milk boy

Anybody have any profiles for 1.0 nozzle?

Jacob Kocha

got the same problem

Hiede

It's very hard to remove the supports. Is there any specific settings for that in your profiles?

Ege

Hey Jesse, the profiles are working great so far on my helmet print, was able to speed it up to 140% with no issues in quality. My issue is I don't get a preview in printer, nor a finish time or layer count for my Klipper. any ideas?

Dan Bradley

Hi I’m trying to figure out I put the info on my orca slicer and I’m a little lost any help would be greatly appreciated

tomas

depend the printer and the slicer you use

Constantin Arsu

I'm new to 3d printing and the software. Do I load the "0.20mm standard" and the "Elegoo Neptune 4 Max .4 nozzle" or just one or the other? I am printing with the Elegoo rapid PLA Plus.

Greg Berger

Yeah no new profiles. I will re-download orca and try again I guess

Steinveri Cosplay

Yeah so when I do the whole ''import > config > choose UJ profiles'' it just says ''A config exists with the same name: 0.20mm Standard - UJ. Do you want to override it?'' even when I rename the files It says this.

Steinveri Cosplay

Did you check the drop down? It doesn’t automatically switch it over, but it should be in your list of options now.

Megan

Is anyone working with Orca and a Elegoo 3 max with a 0.6 who I can compare some of my settings? I get bigger printing times than with prusa, and just wondering what could it be

Abraham Kuri

Just got my Neptune Max 4 today and got it set up. Learned so much stuff before hand and you (UJ) were such a big help making sure I was confident in my purpose, knew what I was getting into, and was prepared for most (not all) pitfalls. This is profile for Orca Slicer is my next step. Thank you!!

Kevsteelio

Heyya so I am new to orca and when I try to add UJ's profile it still shows the system presets, does it just update those?

Steinveri Cosplay

Yeah idk, I love Uncle Jessy's videos and stuff and I REALLY want to use orca slicer for my neptune 4 max, but files sliced with his profile take atleast twice as long... Hopefully we can get the same speed and quality as elegoos cura, but with the much better orca slicer.

Mister J

Anybody figure out how to change filament type using this profile? i'm trying to print with PETG and it keeps changing temps on me mid print.

AKIRA

I assume the settings for N4M is in gcode? How do I add his settings to mine?

Brian Greenman

I based it on the 3 Max but i don’t had the speed settings you can also use the Neptune 4 pro preset and enlarge the build volume to have a Base 😊

Cur1o

How did you get your max as a printer for orca?

Alejandro Correa

Hey there Uncle Jesse, thank you for the Orca Slicer N4M profile, QQ... What do I need to change in the start G-code to make temporary nozzle temp lower (140) after it moves to home position to await bed temp? Currently it sits at home position at 220 waiting for the bed temp to stabilize, would like it to wait at 140 until bend temp reaches 60.

Tory Larsen

ORca doesnt have a 4 max printer yet, so do I use "MyK;ipper0.4" for the printer?

Alejandro Correa

Are you going to work on super past print profiles as well?

renatob007

Hey im new ad love you content. I printed the whole time with .15 Layer hight and it came out very good the only thing is that i had very visible z seam. I haven’t tried your profile jet but i am looking forward to it😊. Weirdly Orca said on 1 print that it will take 9h 38min but the printer n4 max rocked it in 6h 6min with nearly perfect results. Have a Great Day Everyone 😇

Cur1o

super new to Orca and profiles.... Can anyone share how they set the new 4 max profile on orca? I can only find the 4 pro but not the max to even start..

Alejandro Correa

Running one more big print then uploading that tomorrow!

Uncle Jessy

I kept getting random layer shifts with Cura (not 100% sure its the slicer, but I have never had good success with Cura), then I noticed the latest beta version of OrcaSlicer (1.8.0-Beta1) has the Neptune 4, and 4 Pro profiles. I used the 4 Pro, changed its build volume to match the Max and am in the process of doing some testing. So far so good. Fingers crossed.

Papa Pooch

Anycubic Kobra 2 Max has similar build volume. Do you think I can transfer this across to Kobra 2 Max printer?

Kim Pham

neverminded i figure it out

SGGVengeance

when i use the n4 max profile in ocraslicer it rise up in the bottom left corner and doesn't start the print

SGGVengeance

My 4 Max just arrived and I was halfway through trying to get it hooked up with Cura when I saw your video and these settings. I've not used Orca yet but it's worth a go. Superstar.

Alex J'rassic

Also a profile for N4Pro and N3M for orca slicer will be verry nice :D

Stefan Cristian

Looks like the Elegoo 4 Plus will be shipping from the USA warehouse mid November. This gives Uncle Jessy two more weeks to fine-tune the 4 Plus OrcaSlicer profile for most of the USA users.

Vanerie

Nice. I, among many others, were waiting down in the cheap section ($1 club) wondering when the profile for the N4M would drop. Just discovered today that I needed to move up like George and Weezy to get them. Well, here I am. Thanks!

Tom Hansen

Thanks for the reply. I do have a Neptune 3 Plus and would love to have a profile ready to go with !

StudioJamesCao

Yes you can but you have to adjust the bed size and print speed to match N3Pro, I made some adjustment for my N3Plus and is doing a test print now. It would be nice if UJ can made a Orca profile for the N3 series printers.

Robert Ho

Any ETA on the 4 plus Orca Profiles?

Joel Mastrian

Can I use this profile for a Neptune 3 Pro?

Martin Carrizales

Have a question, have been waiting on notification from Prussia on my pre order of XL Has gone up.in price little more than expected My question is do you think it is worth the extra money?

Al Bodde

infill was 15%, but now ive made it hollow as well, and adjusted the walls and layer to .28. brought it down to just shy of 3 days. better than 13 days haha

Daniel Standing

Wow, the Z-Offset thing is driving me completely bonkers. The solutions I've seen about only using the Fluidd interface to change it don't seem to work at all.

Zak Jarvis

Thanks, I came with the same question!

Marco Lopez

UPDATE: This seems to only be happening when I try to print one of the calibration pieces in Orca Slicer. Not sure why this is happening but it isn't related to the profiles in any way.

Ryan Greeson

I'm getting a very strange issue where every layer prints great except for the final layer. It's like the printer is moving up on the final layer and just grinding on top of the previous layer. Is this happening to anyone else? I would share a picture but I can't on here.

Ryan Greeson

I went with the .20 on a 3P0 head. Now, grant you, I took advantage of the speed through the Elegoo, and guess what? I paid the price for it. Zipping around and bumped a support. Guess what I woke up to? I'm giving yours a rip. At default, it shows 16hr for the Elecura and 2d for your Orca. I'm going to see how it goes.

Hector Gonzalez

Just double checked. Elegoo Cura - .28 Draft Profile - Silverhand Estimate is 23Hr My Orca .28 Profile - Silverhand Estimate is 22hr but actually took 24hr to print - not sure how accurate the Elegoo Cura profile is off hand

Uncle Jessy

I'm absolutely loving Orca now def worth a try

Uncle Jessy

They are definitely slower than Elegoo Cura but my prints are also looking about 100x better than what I was getting out of elegoo cura. For sure will be looking at ramping them up more.

Uncle Jessy

Johnny was a 24hr print. .28 layer / 2 walls / Hollow What sort of settings are you trying to run with for the infill etc

Uncle Jessy

I think he has slowed his profile down, but man, the Elegoo Cura time and Orca time with Jessy's profile is almost 4 times as long. Is Orca really that slow?

Hector Gonzalez

anyone know if the print times correct on the orca slicer? cause 13 days for a deadpool bust at 460mm high, wow. how long did that Johnny Silverhands take?

Daniel Standing

Thank you for posting, much appreciated. Toying with my 2x Neptune3 Max and a recently received Neptune4 Max.. (still in the box) after your initial reviews. Curious to try Orca based on your recommendations, as well. I appreciate your time and posts as always.

Bob Passamenti

Yeah. The Zoffset thing is just wildly confusing. I've poked it from a lot of different angles and can't find entirely consistent behavior from it. For one thing, it seems to be much more affected by bed and nozzle temperature than previous FDM printers I've used. Here's to a firmware fix!

Zak Jarvis

I have the base 4 so I'm hoping the 4 and 4 Pro profiles will be identical. And thank you Uncle Jessy for the profiles and work. Truly appreciated.

Eugen Bacic

I'm mentioning the zoffset in my video. I will get it leveled. Zoffset. great print... then the next print will grind into the buildplate and I have to adjust the zoffset again. I'm hoping a firmware update will fix that. My neptune 4 plus has been great though

Uncle Jessy

Awesome! Would there be much change between max and pro other than bed size?

Brandon Crane

Awesome! Thank you! Anyone else finding that getting the z-offset calibrated is way more... wiggly than it feels like it should be? I had it dialed in perfectly. Started a print with this profile, and had to recalibrate it. The first time I did it (using the live calibration during the print), it started putting down a nice first layer, but enough of it was way too squished, so I stopped and restarted, but then the value that was just working great was again way too squished.

Zak Jarvis

Yep! I need to get mine up & printing. Going to see if I can more easily bring over my older Prusa slicer profiles somehow

Uncle Jessy

Yup! Will be working on those this weekend!

Uncle Jessy

open orcaslicer and at the top left click file-> import config and pick the one you want to use from his downloads for you probably the one labled "Elegoo neptune 4 max .4 nozzle" file

corey wright

I need it for 3max and 4pro

Ryan Kelly

Like you knew they shipped my Neptune 4 max today)

Yaroslaw Korol

I'm sadly new to filament printing. Where would I input these and which specific files will I need?

Geeko170

I could use some n4pro love!

Brandon Crane

Any Plans to make N3 plus Orca profiles as well?
