Wrapping up Wolverine cowl build

Wrapping up this Wolverine cowl/helmet build video for tomorrow or Monday!

My yellow is looking a bit more green 🤣🤦‍♂️ I probably should have put down a lighter layer before throwing down the yellow

But the side ears are looking decent. I used some green stuff for the first time which I should have sanded smoother along with some Flexseal rubber spray for the texture. I might do one more coat tonigjt to help try and further blend the ear seams.

File was from Yosh Studios and pretty friggin amazing.

🤞🤞 starting on the Prusa XL build tomorrow

Where is the file for the display eyes?

Chris Howell

Yes I can’t find the eyes anywhere and I just upgraded to $20

Derek Jain

Awesome print. Can you share the file you made for the display eyes?

Thomas McCarthy

That's one of the super frustrating things with using a yellow or even orange paint. It takes SO many layers to look right.

Riley Bittle

I know this is going to sound crazy, but next time you're going to paint something yellow, give it a pink base coat first. It works.

Justin

Look up monument hobbies their pro acryl paints have the strongest pigment load especially their white and yellow

Chris Smith

Green stuff putty, in hindsight I should have smoothed it out more/sanded it down more as I can still see the seams at certain angles

Uncle Jessy

Yeah, I’m wishing for my 1 piece helmet i oriented it better to help reduce the visibility of the top lines. You could try to do some light primer filler & sand a bit. Would obviously knockdown some of the texture. For the ears Flexseal has been awesome for the rubber/texture look

Uncle Jessy

Yeah my thoughts exactly! I’m hitting up my local gaming store to find some vibrant yellow options to dry brush on

Uncle Jessy

how’d you fill the fins?

Lucas

Lightly dry brush a lighter yellow over it just focusing one the highest areas leave the boarders and the rest dark

Chris Smith

Just printed mine on the XL and it came out so dope. Was trying to figure out a way to smooth out the layer lines without losing the texture. Doing anything for that or just keeping it as is?
