Book 2 : The Masked Strength of the Sect's Trash Chapter 114

Lu Shaoqing left Shan Yue’s office feeling rather pleased with himself. Dealing with Tianji Pavilion had gone even better than expected.

As he strolled through Lingxiao City, taking in the sights and sounds, he mused, Tianji Pavilion’s information is absurdly expensive. If I had to pay out of pocket, I’d go broke instantly. He grinned mischievously, muttering to himself, "Master’s reputation is really coming in handy."

True to his plan, Lu Shaoqing had successfully acquired information about the Dianxing Sect, which would be useful if he ever had the chance to make good on his bold idea of dismantling them. He chuckled to himself and headed for his next destination, the bustling Gathering Immortals Hall.

Upon entering, Lu was greeted with enthusiasm. Wang Yao, the hall’s manager, approached him eagerly. "Senior Brother Lu! It’s been ages!"

“Yeah, had to handle some business,” Lu replied. “Your boss back yet?”

"Not yet," Wang Yao answered. "But she sent word that she’ll be back in a few days."

Nodding, Lu asked for a private room to eat and relax. Wang Yao was surprised by the modest order, as Lu’s usual visits meant extravagant feasts.

"Just that much?" he asked.

Lu sighed theatrically, “I’m paying out of pocket now. Gotta save where I can. Unless… you’re offering to treat?”

Wang Yao, recalling Lu’s infamous appetite, quickly excused himself. Lu smirked and settled into his meal, savoring each bite. Midway through, a loud commotion came from the front of the hall.

"Who’s in charge here? Bring us the manager!" barked an arrogant voice.

It was the unmistakable tone of Guiyuan Sect disciples, notoriously brash and entitled. Their demands rang out through the hall, and Lu, listening closely, heard snippets of their loud boasts.

“He’s lucky I wasn’t the one he faced! One strike, and he’d be finished!”

“True! Out of respect for Lingxiao Sect, I held back. Next time, I’ll make sure he knows his place!”

The voices grew louder as the disciples openly slandered Ji Yan.

These fools, Lu thought, smirking as he finished his meal. They were making it too easy for him. He had a plan.

After settling his bill, Lu handed a folded piece of paper to Wang Yao. “Can you pass this to those guys?” he asked.

Wang Yao raised an eyebrow. "What’s on it?"

“Just a message,” Lu said with a smirk. “Once they see it, they’ll leave on their own.”

As Lu left, Wang Yao noticed the glint in his eye—a glint that meant the Guiyuan Sect disciples were about to get a surprise they wouldn’t forget.
