Well. This is it. The finale.

Jeez is this a rollercoaster.

But well at least Harmony is not a monster, she left the baby safe and sound. When Devon talked about Harmony leaving the house with the baby my heart sank, like when Jinx brought the plate closer to Vi and I thought Caitlyn's head might have been inside 0w0

Meri2700

No words, best episode so far! (Well yes... have some... I regret about feeling bad about you Harmony you witch! >:V I feel better now :3)

Meri2700

Yes I do hear you, perhaps something else in the plot could have stopped him getting in the door!

Claudie

OOo these are super interesting thank you, I will note these all down and react to these in a video along with the Lexington letter. Will be doing a Q and A before season 2 also and will let you know if you'd like to ask any specific questions :)

Claudie

Yes the whole Gemma concept is still baffling to me too, who is she and if Mark thinks she's dead, how is she alive with not a scratch on her? And thank you, always appreciate the kind words!

Claudie

It’s a great finale but once again I was somewhat annoyed by the fact that so much depended on Milchick having the dullest knife ever seen on screen not cutting butter. It took him more than six minutes to get through that belt. In the end it’s a minor issue but they could have easily come up with something else to impede his entry to the room; and it seems out of character for him to neglect maintenance of his tools. Anyway, I’m looking forward to your season 2 reactions.

*spoiler for S1 finale* everything they’ve told you about severance is a lie!” - a beat goes by, then the audience chuckles.

*Spoilers for S1 finale* Here are some details and questions for you off the top of my head. Irving being a painter is what connects him to Burt. They both have appreciation for art leading to their first conversation. I don't think innie Irving knows about the testing floor hallway because he doesn't pay much attention to/question it when he wakes up in his house. So somehow his outie is subconsciously remembering things that his innie doesn't? Ms. Casey saying her life has been 4.5 days long, Cobel referring to her as a "part-time innie" and bringing her BACK down to the testing floor. She's definitely one of the people Petey said never leaves. She also asks, "Am I happy up there" so she thinks she leaves work like the rest of the severed workers. Does her outie even exist? Beehive, Branch Transfer, Clean Slate, etc... want to take a gander of what all those protocols do? There's also a small detail about Mark that is obscured in the show in episode 2. The scene where Helly asks about Mark's crystal head cube before the audio drowns out to Irv's dream sequence has had its audio isolated, and you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZK6mob6yQs The writer (Dan Erikson) has explained it on Variety 3 years ago, so I wouldn't consider it a spoiler for S2, but it does bring light to the significance of a certain character. Another issue, would they even let the innies go back down to the severed floor after the fiasco? They've "tasted the forbidden fruit" so to say, so things can never really go back to normal. How do you think S2 will start off? Anyways, love your reactions and can't wait for you to experience the wild ride that is Severance S2!

“Sigh”😮‍💨 Just finished watching the finale, it felt tense all the time! I had to scream at the screen a few times. Hey, Claudie, it seemed like you were out of air at the beginning with all the excitement! For me the big mystery is still Gemma, and why is she also just a “part-timer” as Cobel described it. Brilliant show, and I am so glad you picked it. Great smart-funny-thoughtful reactions. Thanks!

Ruby Nieto

I was waiting to see your face after the reveal that Helly R is an Eagan. However, she is not just an Eagan, Helena. She is the CEO's daughter, no less.

Daniel Raso-Llarás

Yes I may give it a read in the Discord or on the channel haha

Claudie

If you have Apple gear, you can get Ricken's book (a shortened version of it) in the Books app. There's even an audio-book version of it.

Will

Yes 39 minutes I believe to match the episode length :)

Claudie

Leonora Eagan... ahhh interesting! Yes so many brilliant details thank you!

Claudie

**SPOILERS FOR S1 FINALE** I think that they were awake for about 40ish minutes. Mark said they he thought they had roughly an hour left when talking to his sister. Irvin had enough time to look through his things, mark out where Burt was and then drive across town to his house. Poor Dylan's arms must be killing him! **SPOILERS FOR S1 FINALE**

Moose

A detail you may have missed would be that the apartments where Irving lives is named after Leonora Lake and Leonora Eagan was a previous CEO. Along with the town being named Kier and the Myrtle Eagan school for girls, it really seems like the Eagan's pretty much run the whole area and perhaps even the whole world. Also, I didn't notice the Radar detail when I first watched the episode which I gasped out loud to on the bus on my way home. I can't wait for season 2!!

Mr Furnace

Doesn’t slow down at all in season 2. Praise Kier!

Hunter

Honestly don't know how you did it haha

Claudie

I'll be doing a Q and A next week, and will put a community post out on Friday when the YouTube reaction comes out, and answer everyones questions, it will be very fun to discuss! Then will do the same for S2 and watch some bts and interviews too :)

Claudie

Absolutely, I'm so so excited to crack on with season 2!

Claudie

Ah interesting, id love to see some interviews etc, when the show is done, and check out some behind the scenes stuff and videos with the cast. This that would be really interesting to react to

Claudie

Thank you for acknowledging that some of us had to wait three years for season 2. :)

Todd (gallatyn)

A discussion for season 2 would be great :) I would love to hear what you think they will be or should resolve in the next season.

CpzBuzzLightyear

SPOILERS FOR S. 1 FINALE: First off, thank you. Your reactions are brilliant. I had to just pause and celebrate the bad ass expression on Helly's face as she's being led to the stage. She's determined to break things. Nothing and no one (including Cobel) is about to stop her. And Dylan is a real one isn't he? The big payoff for me though has to be "She's alive!" I get goosebumps just writing it. Irving's mystery deepens as well. The question about Cobel is a valid one. She is not black or white. Is she threatening Helly or warning her? Stay tuned and you'll find out more in season 2 - along with being introduced to even more infuriating mysteries.... ;)

Robert Northrop

First- I have been loving your reactions to this season! I had to wait three years for season 2, haha so I’m a bit jealous you get to start it right away. One thing not many reactors talk about is the dancers being the 4 tempers. In episode 2, when Burt and Irving meet in the wellness room, they talk about the painting that’s titled something like “Kier tames the 4 tempers”. And it’s a painting of Kier basically whipping the 4 tempers, that look exactly like the dancers. Ben Stiller talked about the waffle party in an interview- basically since the innies never get to experience intimacy or really any human touch since they are always working, this is a huge perk for them to get to experience intimacy once in a while. Basically giving them something similar to a sexual experience, but the writers wanted to make it super cult like and all about Kier and Lumon. Which is why you see the Kier mask, which Dylan puts on, and the whip with the 9 core principles on it. He supposedly gets to re-enact the painting from wellness and “tame the 4 tempers” as part of his waffle party. I can’t wait for your reactions to season 2! About a year after season 1, Apple released the Lexington letter. It gives more information about Lumon, and while it isn’t required for season 2, it is a good read. You should check it out!

Kathryn Ellis

This whole show is brilliant. There are still a few things that seem like plot holes to me, but they may be resolved in season 3.

Matt Quinn

Yeah I can imagine it just grew and grew, must have been so fun to be a part of that!

Claudie

I was literally there since day one when the first eps came out on apple. The 3 year wait for season two was KILLER! But the wait made it more fun as a pretty big community of severance fans had grown by season 2 and experiencing it week by week with them made the experience more fun than that of season 1.

Christina Paz

Ah it was 39 minutes.... ok thats super cool! Yeah I'm super excited for season 2 as well!

Claudie

This was such a tense episode! And thankfully I didn’t have to wait three years for season 2…I only started watching in March! But we will have to wait another 2 years for season 3 😅 Looking forward to your thoughts on season 2. The first half is a bit trippy! Also wanted to add, the episode was in ‘real time’ so they got 39 minutes (just like we did) to tell someone on the outside.

Erin

Ugh I was so pissed when he did that hahaha! Her face too when he says it!

Claudie

Yes I really hope this is explored in season 2, as its the big thing i dont quite get at the moment

Claudie

Alright I'm sat down ready to watch this

MAROON

Adam Scott said in several interviews he remembers reading the script and thinking, if we have people’s interest up to this point of the show, the moment he accidentally calls her Ms. Cobel is going to be SO much fun. Your reaction is a great example that he was right! Wish we could ship off a compilation of Ms. Cobel reactions to Mr. Scott 😂

Briseph

As someone watching this for the first time with you, I think the most plausible explanation for Gemma is that Lumon kidnapped her and faked her death. They might have told Mark that the body couldn't be recovered, or perhaps they used a proxy body with a damaged face, making it difficult to identify, or even created a fake corpse that resembled her. Faking someone's death might not be too challenging for Lumon, given their apparent influence over the police and other powerful entities. However, I suspect there's more to it, possibly involving Gemma staying at Lumon of her own accord. Although I doubt this, it remains a possibility. I believe the events surrounding Gemma are likely even more interconnected, and what actually happened with her will be a big reveal that will take us by complete surprise!

Christoffer Andersen

Yep that's the bit that's baffling me too. That makes no sense at all!

Claudie

The questions about what happened to the "body" of Gemma do get somewhat answered in the second season.

Justin Pritchard

AHH YES I'm so excited to see your reaction to the madness
