End of Year Hiatus

Hi, I'm sorry to say that owing to significant life events and needing to properly allocate my attention AYP will be going on another hiatus following this next chapter. It is not the end of Volume 3 like I had planned, but it is both the longest chapter in the series so far (at roughly 30 pages), and also contains what I think to be its best writing so far. I feel it's a good place to rest for the year.

I apologize for the frequent hiatuses, but it's the only way I can work. Each chapter can take up weeks of brainstorming and all told take around 2-3 weeks for me to produce one. This is in conjunction with many other projects I work on such as music and other writing, which means that almost all of my waking time is devoted to working on something and burn-out is common. And lastly, I wish for AYP to be more than just a silly comedy or drama. I want it to be a significant piece of work that can be enjoyed for a long time and so I'm very anxious to take it slow and make it as quality as possible.

I started this year with the big goal of launching this Patreon (something I had never done before), and throughout it I have doubled the page count of the series, fleshed it out into something resembling what I think is a solid project, and really learned what it means to be a serious writer and not somebody just pursuing a hobby. I am very happy with the hard work I have put into it so far and with where the series stands so far, because I think there is a lot of potential in it.

AYP is my absolute lifeblood and it is the core thing that represents me at this point in time. It is more than just a series, and is my way with interacting with and commenting on the world, and is a vessel for all my creative hopes and ambitions.

I'm beyond grateful that you two have supported me this far, even though I often feel I haven't delivered enough in proportion to how much support you give, and that makes me feel bad a lot of the time. But at this obscure point in the series' history, every little bit of attention helps and is infinitely motivating, so I thank you again deeply.

I would like to think that 2024 is the year that AYP finds its success. I have what I think is an amazing and wild ending planned out, and I would like it so that a lot of people could share in it. I would like them to be there to cheer Aster on at the end. As far as what is slated for next year, I have embarked on a plan to produce an animated music video for the Love You Forevers' debut single, 'Das Gemeine', which, if successful, will feature the whole cast animated and voiced. The opening to the music video will be the birthday party scene from “Zorgs from Europa”, which I think will be a good intro for a lot of people into the series' antics. Volume 3 will conclude next year, and Volume 4 will likely as well.
