An autistic couple who wrote their own wedding vows have inadvertently set the world record for the longest vows ever exchanged, sources have confirmed.

Navya Randhawa, 32, and Miya Wilkes, 34 - who reportedly wanted to make sure their vows were precise, realistic and caveated to account for every possible eventuality - have, at the time of writing, been reciting them for almost five years.

Randhawa said: “It’s important to manage expectations, which is why I’ve detailed every path our marriage might take and how I plan to behave in each instance, in order of likelihood of occurrence.”

Wilkes commented: “I didn’t plan on my vows being quite this long, but I had to do some pretty hefty rewrites to respond to Navya’s. I feel bad keeping everyone waiting so long for their dinner. A couple of elderly relatives have actually died.”

At the time of writing, Randhawa and Wilkes had just begun defining what is meant by “for better or for worse” just in time for what would have been their fifth anniversary.
