An autistic woman accused by a friend of overcompensating has attempted to rectify the situation with a cake reading “sorry for overcompensating.”
Navya Randhawa, 32, who never goes anywhere without a cornucopia of home-baked goods, issued the apology after best friend Sarah Harrow, 35, told her she’s enough on her own.
Randhawa said: “Oh God I’m so embarrassed. I’ve overdone it, haven’t I. I’m so so sorry.”
Harrow responded: “No no, Navya, it’s fine - I love your cakes. I just don’t want you to feel like you need to bring me offerings. Just your company is great.”
Randhawa then went conspicuously silent for several hours, before re-emerging with a three-tier apology cake grander than the one Harrow had at her wedding.
Randhawa continued: “I didn’t mean to make Sarah uncomfortable. I’ve issued a verbose, heartfelt apology in writing icing on every tier for the specific ways in which I’ve overcompensated, culminating in the final message on the top tier.”
“I just hope it’s enough,” Randhawa added. “If not, I can bake bigger and bigger cakes every day until she forgives me.”
