Devastating! Autistic woman discovers Bluesky’s nuclear block doesn’t extend to real life

An autistic woman has expressed horror after discovering that the comprehensive block feature on Bluesky doesn’t work on real life, it has been reported.

Freya Emerson, 33, was initially delighted when blocking ex-colleague Robert Noot, 50, basically wiped him off the face of the Internet. But her delight turned to dismay when the following Thursday, she bumped into Noot in the frozen-food aisle of her local Tesco.

Emerson explained: “I never liked Robert - so when he rewrote one of my jokes, making it significantly less funny, I didn’t hesitate to hit the block button, which I’d been led to believe would simply blink him from existence.”

“But then there he was at Tesco, stocking up on frozen peas,” Emerson continued. “Instead of having been sucked into a black hole, never to be seen or heard from again.”

“I ended up pretending blocking him was a mistake and unblocking him then and there,” Emerson added, while lugging boxes into a removal van. “As you can see, I now have to move across the country.”

The specificity makes me wonder if this happened IRL.
