An autistic woman has expressed frustration after a new acquaintance refused to break the ice by crossing any social boundaries, it has been rumoured.
Ffiona Maw, 31, had been Bluesky mutuals with Jay Chester, 33, for over a month and had hoped to cultivate a friendship, but found herself disappointed by Chester’s refusal to pop the conversational cork that would allow her to spray her real personality all over them.
Maw said: “I really like Jay, but if they don’t overshare about how their first crush was on their cousin some time soon, I don’t know where we go from here.”
“I’ve been waiting for anything - a clumsy comment, an awkward anecdote, a confession about a secret kink - to give me permission to be a little freak at them,” Maw continued. “But so far they’ve just talked about work.”
Chester commented: “God I hope Ffiona says something inappropriate soon, I don’t know how much longer I can talk about my office’s filing system.”

This is happening to me right now. Literally right now, but with a family member. You can cut through the awkward with a knife.
