Added 2022-12-01 07:14:47 +0000 UTChi hello. it's come to my attention that not everyone follows me on twitter or is in the discord server. so for those people there has been no explanation for my recent falling off the youtube radar. i will now provide one as i feel you are owed one.
first off: i am currently working on All Five Remaining HOTD Videos. the scripts for 3 of them are done, the other two are in progress. recording and editing always takes much, MUCH less time than writing. i project that cumulatively, these 5 videos will go for over 3 hours. fun. they will all be out before christmas.
anyway the main story is i caught covid in late october, and this absolutely sent me. i've been sick plenty of times, and i know millions of people have had covid far worse than i have, but good lord does this disease suck. it's been over a month and i've been testing negative for weeks but i still have lengthy coughing fits, great lethargy, and much trouble focusing on anything. before you ask, yes i was vaccinated. the 5G reception is immaculate. also possible that i just burnt myself out across the august-october period. long-time enjoyers will know that the longest string of weekly releases i've managed was season 8, when i was young and motivated by rage.
i'm prone to spiraling when it comes to not releasing things - "it's been so long since i posted, people are gonna expect something magnificent, so i'd better spend even more time making it great, but then it's gonna be even further away so i should spend more time on it which will take longer so i should make it better so" and you can see how these brain worms effect my workflow. this is what happened with No One and it's happening again now.

also i have chosen to sever ties with a specific sponsor in light of a controversy surrounding them. people have urged me to remove their segments from existing videos, but legally that's a little complicated so i'm not sure i can do that.

As always the two of you together make me laugh louder than any other you tubers on this sad planet. Also I wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed the Materia album. For what it is worth I would happily purchase a vinyl copy if you ever considered releasing such a thing. I have continued to purchase vinyl recordings throughout the ups and downs and imminent deaths of vinyl and subsequent recoveries since I started buying records when I was a kid and loved the Kinks, the Beatles and etc. My favorite vinyl LP of 2022 is -- I think -- the Irish band Fontaines D.C.'s "Skinty Fia". However, I believe a vinyl release by Materia might well be in my top 5, if you or anyone cares what this old man thinks.

It’s your personality and how much you enjoy doing videos that make them so fun to watch, I don’t speak for everyone but I know I’d take 20 minutes of you having a blast over 5 hours of polished commentary that you didn’t enjoy making :) value YOUR goolies glidus 🤌✨

And as you said burnout is rough. I had no idea about any of this though, so thank you for getting us Patreon and Youtube-only peeps up to date.

Still sucks to get fucked by covid, even though you weren't hit as hard as others, it can take a toll on you. I would say "I can't wait for your videos" but no, I'm a good patient boy and will wait til they're good and ready, and not burn my mouth like I did with the cookies I baked last week.
