“Upial's response... disappeared? Hey! You, immediately get Upiil, Upiul, Upiel Upiol to here ASAP!”*1
I ordered my subordinates who were nearby and immediately went to summon the four of them.
I don't think Upial, the leader of the five counts under my command, will be beaten so easily...even if he can't win against A-rank adventurers, he should be able to force it into a fight he can't lose... As I recall, Upial was sent to the Lister Confederacy... Perhaps the S-rank adventurer Sword God has made a move? No... he should be on his way to the Sky Continent right now... but if it was the Sword God that moved, we wouldn’t get off scot-free. There is a possibility that all vampires, including myself, will be eradicated...
“Lady Carmilla! We have hurriedly returned."
The four brothers - Upiil, Upiul, Upiel, and Upiol - are kneeling on one knee in front of me and hanging their heads.
“You guys! Upial might have lost his life in the Lister Confederacy! Assuming Upial was defeated, the other party could be quite the big name. An A-rank adventurer or possibly even an S-rank adventurer! You're not allowed to mess with the Lister Confederacy temporarily! Understood?”
“Wha! There's a chance that elder brother's been killed?! ...I'd like to avenge him if I could…but I certainly can't find any reason for us to be able to win against someone who can beat elder brother... Yes, we understand..."
Upiil said, and the other three nodded. We can't stumble in a place like this... we have to make sure those guys don't find out about Upial's death...
Above is the Carmilla’s POV.
☆☆☆
Although Ellie had said that when Mars's fight seriously he’ll glow…the stats of that vampire Upial was ridiculously high... And yet Mars was able to defeat him alone...
The attack power of that glowing magic was ridiculously high. I've never seen it before so I can’t be sure if that was lightning or Holy magic... Mars is only 10 years old...an age that would normally signify that he would grow stronger... And yet he's already a B-rank adventurer...or at the very least he is stronger than Recca.
Because Recca can't defeat that vampire by any stretch of my imagination. Perhaps the nearest one to an A-rank adventurer is Mars? I also received recognition because of my rare type of Magic Eyes and exceptional magic power in addition to being the second daughter of the Fresvald Household but I'm far behind Mars... I'm really glad I met Mars. If I hadn't met Mars, I would still be a frog in a well...
Above is assumed to be Karen’s POV.
☆☆☆
Upial was strong. Without Lightning magic, I would have definitely lost. As expected, I should hone this Lightning magic more... my level had gone up after killing him. Does the level go up even if you took a person’s life...

Everything except durability has exceeded 70. I've learned a lot of things from this battle but I can't think about anything else right now.
“Mars!”
Clarice hugged me as she called out for me. Clarice is crying. And she seems to be shaking too...
“Clarice, it's all right now... I managed to beat him.”
“Mars...you’re quivering... I'm sorry...”
Clarice wiped my eyes and held my hand. Apparently, I was crying. And I thought Clarice was the one shaking but it seems that I was the one shaking. Maybe I was very affected mentally by killing people. I was looking at my shaking hands.
“Ha ha... no matter how much my level rises, I still can't cure my cowardice apparently...”
“That's not true... Mars helped me in Japan and in Grantham. And even now, without Mars, there’s no doubt we would have been wiped out... Thank you so much. And I'm sorry I let you shoulder all the burden."
Clarice hugged me tighter as she cried.
“Let's go back to Isaac... I'm really tired and I want to rest now.”
Clarice pulled away from me after I said that but this time Ellie hugged me. I could see tears welling up in Ellie's eyes too...After Ellie, Karen and Misha jumped in. They were all worried about me...
We didn't encounter any more magic beasts on our way back to Isaac.
After all, the magic beasts must have come from that wall made by Upial... I really wanted to ask Upial more about the wall… Because it was very similar to the one we saw when I went from the Irgusia labyrinth to Grantham.
Maybe that wall is the Gate magic... It wasn't a Unique Ability so there must be others besides Upial who can use it. If I ever meet those other people, I'll ask them about the Gate magic.
We arrived in Isaac and I immediately returned to the inn. Karen took the initiative to report to Irina. I really just want to rest right now so I took a bath and dove straight into bed and fell asleep like a log without depleting my magic power.
How many hours had I slept? When was the last time I slept like this? I slept a lot and my body felt heavy... When I slowly woke up, Clarice was right in front of me. Clarice was looking at me the whole time as I slept with her.
“Mars? You woke up? Are you alright?"
Tears were building up in Clarice's eyes more and more and she sounded tearful.
“Yeah... My body feels a bit heavy... but I'm fine...”
Before I could finish, Clarice pulled my face into her chest. My face was sandwiched between two soft hills of Clarice's, albeit over clothes. T-this is...every man’s dreamed puff-puff*1! Soft... and smells good... But Clarice who is unaware of what I'm even thinking…
“I'm really glad...I thought the psychological damage was too much and Mars wouldn't wake up again...other people would say it's okay because it's an everyday occurrence but we're from Japan. The experience, or rather the common sense, of killing people is..."
She was already crying towards the end and I couldn’t make out what she was saying but I understood what she was trying to say. The weight of life and common sense is completely different from Japan and... Earth.
“Clarice. Thank you."
As I said this, I put my hands around Clarice's waist and absorbed the Clarice component as much as I could. Then Clarice said.
“I-it looks like you're feeling better now so I'll go and tell everyone.”
Clarice got out of bed quickly, her face flushing red. The reason being my unruly child knocked Clarice's knees repeatedly. I could have enjoyed the best of times even more if you had restrained yourself a little more... Please, buddy...
Clarice left the room and after a while, the Daybreak members came to me, except Baron and Minerva.
I can't get out of the futon and I can't even lie on my back with my unruly child standing up. Seeing me like that, the members other than Clarice are worried. Ellie, Karen, and Misha's eyes are moist. T-this, I feel waves of guiltiness...
“I'm sorry for worrying you guys. I'm feeling a bit heavy at the moment because I had too much sleep. I'll leave the room in a little while, can you wait for me? What time is it anyway? Seems like I had been sleeping quite a lot...."
When I asked that, Clarice said.
“It's 7 o'clock on the 13th. You have slept for about 15 hours. I was worried that you, a short sleeper, had slept more than 10 hours...”
Fift-, 15 hours huh... it felt like I had been sleeping for days...but Clarice signaled to everyone and left the bedroom, and the others followed. Phew...I have to discharge my private electricity quickly...
After about an hour I went into the bath in a way that no one could detect me. Especially because if Ellie finds me, she might know that I discharged my own generated electric power from the smell.
As soon as I entered the large room similar to a living room where everyone was after taking a bath, Ellie hugged me. She buried her face in my neck and breathed in as much as she could. T-that tickles...
“...Are you...okay already...?”
Ellie whispered in my ear and I nodded silently.
Karen and Misha saw this and hugged me from either side, burying their faces in my neck and sucking me in as hard as they could, just like Ellie.
“I bet every guy in the world would have the same opinion that Mars is the enemy if they saw this... I really envy you, I wish I could experience it...even if it’s just once.”
Dominic said while looking at me, and Ryner too added his 5 cents.
“I wish we had this kind of youth. Right, Bram?"
“I know. Despite the vast world, there is only one person who could be surrounded by this many beautiful women.”
Well, I certainly agree...but if this continues, my unruly child is about to wake up again...
"Hey, you three, can I have a word? I'm going to go get Baron and Minerva. I want to let you guys know about my powers later."
When I said this, the three beauties seemed to understand and backed away from me. It's a bit disappointing but it can't be helped.
Then I went to the door of the room where Baron and Minerva were.
At this point, I had no way of knowing what was going on behind the door...
