Chapter 28 : Kill if Killed

Hiro raised his dumb voice.

"Bright!"

Bright chuckled inside his helmet.

(...Thank God. Because of Hiro's interruption and my subconscious response to it, my speed dropped for a single moment. Thanks to that I can end this with just one arm lost.)

Saejima, who had been looking downwards, suddenly vomited blood.

His abdomen was pierced by Bright’s left hand...

Bright took Speed Star gear by another step during the previous showdown. Naturally, the timing of Saejima's counterattack was supposed to be off. However, Saejima predicted that Bright was going to go even faster.

In spite of this, Saejima, who should have slashed Bright's torso in two, was only able to chop one arm.

If not for Hiro's interference, Bright would have been fatally injured first timing-wise. Ironically for Saejima, his ally (Hiro)’s support fire was only a disruption to him.
