Chapter 17 : Kuroyume(April 1st ver, the next one is real)

... Due to the activation of Revived Hunter's ability, "Lonsdaleite" has been acquired.

...When he woke up, he saw an unfamiliar ceiling. Kouki was relieved to see that Revived Hunter had been activated properly.

His shattered fist, also his jaw that was also smashed by the counter, and the broken bones all over his body from crashing to the wall had all healed nicely.

(Thanks to the great Revived Hunter I guess. I knew from the start that it’s an awesome cheat ability though.)

In addition to reviving and recovering his body, he also obtained that man's ability. Kouki had won the gamble.

"Oh? You're awake?"

He turned around in surprise to see a bespectacled woman in a white coat.

"Don't worry. I'm not going to eat you, not me at least."

"Wha-......uhm, where am I?"

"Fufu, the hideout of the man you fought. He is the organization’s boss by the way."

Even after receiving the answer, Kouki still couldn’t wrap his head over the situation.

He was definitely killed by that last boss-like man in a fight and died once. He had died instantly the moment he received that counter, so he had no idea what happened after that. So when he was told that he was in the organization of the last boss-level enemy, he felt at lost. The seductress in front of him is even of lesser help to but he managed to somehow retain his rationale.

(That guy is the boss of an organization? Then, maybe I am going to be tortured or brainwashed?)

"You don't have to look so scared. The reason why the boss brought you here is because he's interested in you."

"Eh? Interested in me? Why?"

"Guessing from the circumstances usually your gift but maybe your face too, cutie. You can ask the boss yourself later. He asked me to bring you to his room after you wake up. Sigh, if only I found you first."

"I don't want to go...."

Kouki couldn't believe what the supposedly female doctor was saying. Especially since he was killed by that man once. It was fortunate in a sense that it happened so fast that he couldn't even recognize that he was dead...

The most important fact was that he received so much damage to the point that he died but he came back without a single scratch. There’s no doubt that this would be misunderstood as having some kind of gift due to how unusual it was.

If he was not careful, he might be interrogated about the Revived Hunter. In fact, the woman in front of him might be sent to sound him out.

"No can do, boss’s order is absolute. I heard you were injured but seems like you probably have a recovery-type gift since I don’t see any injuries at all. Fufu, not to mention, you can’t be any healthier at your age. Unfortunately, we don’t have the spare time for a private consultation."

Kouki’s heart received two shocks before he gazed down the tent below. Sure enough, maintaining rationale did not mean he could control his body.

"...oh, that’s just my own rough guess about your gift. Here, we don’t do forced inquiries, unlike certain country."

"Wha? Is that so?"

"Yes. Well, it depends on the situation, but even so, in most cases, I won't force you to spit out the details of your gift. Anyway, you don't seem to be hurt anywhere else. Can’t make the boss wait so follow me is what I wanted to say. But is five minutes enough for you? The restroom is just right at the corner there."

On the way to the boss's room, Kouki asked the beautiful woman in white about various things.

Her name’s Asami, and she was in charge of the organization's medical affairs.

The name of the organization is "Kuroyume".

This place seems to be underground and is quite large, roughly about the size of an I◯N shopping mall in the suburbs[1]. Based on the former Tokyo Prefecture, it is located where Hachioji City was supposed to be but no longer inhabited.

The man that Kouki fought is the boss of this organization, Kiryu Shinichirou.

The organization seems to have quite a few members and is one of the top five filth(criminal) organizations in the world.

"Dear me, you know, our boss is an odd one. Even this time, he said something like ‘Since I have some spare time, I’ll go visit the prison for a bit’ and he really went to surrender himself there. Well, he got bored after a week since I doubt there’s anyone that could satisfy him there and came back though."

(??? What's with that? Isn't he just an idiot? But in the end, he got bored and escaped… Those cops who died for that vain reason are really pitiful...)

"Okay, we're here."

When Asami opened the door to the boss's room, he saw a handsome middle-aged man in his fifties sitting on the sofa.

"Hey, you're up. That’s quick. Sit down."

Kouki said, "Excuse me..." and sat down on the sofa across the table from Kiryu.

His heart thumped...his heart raced.

It was a strange feeling. A combination of murderous intent towards Kiryu and even stronger than that was the feeling of fear and admiration, but Kouki didn't realize that himself.

With such a strange feeling, Kouki began to sweat all over before locking his gaze at Kiryu. It was the first time he had seen Kiryu's face since he had been covered in black armor previously.

"Hm? Ah, I just remembered you've only seen me when I've activated my ability. Let me introduce myself again. My name is Kiryu. I'm the boss of Kuroyume."

"I'm...uh...uh..."

When he was about to introduce himself but as he was not sure if it's a good idea to reveal his identity here, he stopped talking.

"...If you don't want to say anything, I won't force you. There’s only one thing I want to ask you."

Kiryu's expression tightened. With just that alone, Kouki felt a chill going through his spine.

(...this man is definitely the last boss. Would telling my name now be better than not...)

Despite having obtained Kiryu's ability, there is a reason why Kouki cowered so much.

It took him a while to get the hang of activating the Speed Star. Even his Invisible Slash is way weaker than Saejima’s.

And although he hadn't even activated it yet, he could feel it. He knew from his senses he can’t handle Lonsdaleite right now.

He couldn’t even imagine the amount of time and effort needed before he could harden his whole body like Kiryu or create those black walls out of nowhere.

"Getting straight to the point. Will you have a one-night stand with me?"

“You are looking for that kind of satisfaction in prison?!”
