Unholy Arts Test Supporter Version 0.3.22, New Battle AI

The structure of the new Combat Scene AI is right about finished, and now comes the work of gathering data to properly balance the numbers.

The previous AI followed a simple algorithm that tried to understand the inertia of the battle at an analytical level, then selected a random action among those that were somewhat valid. The new AI gets information to understand what's happening in the battle too, but then uses it to assign weights to all possible [action-target] combinations, giving extra priority to the actions that make use of the character's stats.

The new algorithm allows a Padmiri who has had her magical stats weakened will understand the utility in using kicks above embers, and makes Valtan understand that Freeze Feet will have more utility when used against Claw than against Ate, since agility is more important for the former.

However, a lot of numbers need to be tweaked yet. If you decide to give it a try, you'll find that you'll get a lot of logged information about the AI at the bottom of the battle scene passages. Please share your feedback with us.
