Unholy Arts v0.2.3 Padmiri and Valtan Update Changelog
Added 2020-12-11 04:38:06 +0000 UTCToday's update brings two new story scenes, many new scene and conversation actions, a small introduction of character drives, and horniness spores.
A couple of the bug fixes for this version have been copy-pasted directly into the new version 0.2.2b, which lower tier patrons now have access to.
There may be a couple of small changes that aren't mentioned in the patch notes, but my computer batteries died and I had forgotten to save the patch notes file. I've added some of them back from memory.
I also want to thank DaClown, Satsu, Nattiness and randomanon, who have been great help with their bug reports during the last couple of weeks.
Game mechanics
- Properly introducing character drives. Drives are a abstractions of a character's goals and motivations: they will help them choose their goals and influence their behavior. Different ways in which drives influence the AI and ways in which the game's mechanics and events may influence characters' drives will be added progressively. Current drives are: Self-improvement, pleasure, love, cooperation, domination, and ambition. You may learn about the specific drives of a character by asking them with a new social interaction, or by stablishing a special relationship with them and checking their page in the personal room menu.
Story events
- Added a new story event after day 13, which contains a few ways to get into a battle scene. A few of them are quite unfair.
- Added a new story event after day 14, which contains an avoidable sex scene.
- Adjusted required stat checks and stat affinity checks from Flirting Advice, Beating a Kitty Into Friendship Outcome, and Aspiring Tree Climber.
- Passages at "Ethics of Power" that previously hinted that Padmiri's and Claw's views were changing will now properly modify their drives.
- Similar changes have been added to several story events through the whole game.
New scene actions
- Mount dick, ride dick, and push dick back: Sex actions, similar to Penetrate pussy, thrust and push hips back, respectively.
- Vines Hold Arms (Reworked action): Sex continued action. Previously, it was only usable in test rooms. The actor binds their partner's arms with vines, causing energy, willpower and lead damage, and locking their partner's arms. Costs 3 willpower. Scales with resilience and intelligence. Requires the target to have free arms. Usable by Leirien. Padmiri now knows this action at the start of the game.
- Vine Arm Lock: Battle action. Whips an enemy with vines, attempting to bind their arms. Locks the target's arms, provokes control damage, reduces agility and control recovery. Scales with intelligence and resilience; perception and agility help to evade the attack. Costs 5 willpower. Usable by Leirien. Padmiri knows this action at the start of the game.
- Relaxing Scent: Battle action. The actor launches spores into the air, which provoke everyone else to relax. Afflicted characters will lose small amounts of physique, agility, perception and will. Costs 3 willpower. Effects increase with resilience and will. May be stacked. Usable by Leirien. Padmiri knows this action at the start of the game.
- Borrowed identity: Battle action. Copies someone else's form. Increases own charisma, decreases perception, empathy and charisma of everyone else in the combat. Costs 2 willpower and social drive. Effects increase with charisma, empathy and will. Not stackable on self. Usable by Shapeshifters.
- Double penetration and double thrust: Sex continued and single use actions. The actor splits their dick into two and penetrates their target's pussy and ass, dealing lust and energy damage. Require the proper free bodyparts. Scale with physique, agility, resilience and will. Usable by Shapeshifters. Only usable if anal content is enabled. These actions are learnt through the scroll "Surprised in the Rear".
- Slime Hug: Sex continued action. The actor surrounds their target's body with their slime, causing small lust, energy and willpower damage, reducing agility and provoking small lead damage. Scales with agility, resilience and will. Requires the actor and target to share a valid position. Usable by Shapeshifters. Valtan knows this action at the start of the game.
New social interactions
- Ask about values: the actor asks the target to explain their values and goals. If successful, the character drives of the target will be shown. When succesful, this interaction raises friendly and intimate moods, as well as friendship and romance.
- Relaxing scent: the actor releases spores that induce a state of relaxation. This interaction increases friendliness of interlocutors, and reduces everyone's dominance and anger. Padmiri knows this action at the start of the game.
Sex scene AI
- Added "bondage" taste, vines hold arms and slime hug have this tag.
Combat Balance
- Hypnotic glance: Increased base control damage (from 1.0 to 1.2), increased control damage scaling with actor's will (from 0.003 to 0.006), increased control damage reduction with target's will (from 0 to 0.003), added lust damage (base lust damage is half the base willpower damage). This should make hypnotic glance a more competitive attack, more useful than freeze feet under some circumstances.
- Increased base chance to land social attacks. Chance to land social attacks now scales with the actor's and target's social affinity. Reminder that Claw is weak to social attacks, Val is strong at using social attacks, Maaterasu is weak at using social attacks and more resistant to social attacks. Current social attacks are tease, taunt and hypnotic glance.
- Spanking is now influenced by the actor's resilience, and not only the actor's physique.
- Cold Guts is no longer influenced by perception, cold guts is now influenced by will.
- Increased Cat Aspect scaling.
- Adjusted control damage for Freeze feet (nerfed) and Aetherial Chains (buffed).
Character drives changes
- Modified calculation for map AI mission weights:
- Training more likely scaling with self-improvement and ambition.
- Socialization more likely scaling with pleasure, love and cooperation.
- Challenging more likely scaling with self-improvement and ambition.
- Assaulting more likely scaling with ambition and domination.
Map mechanics and balance
- It will no longer be possible to initiate combat in rooms where combat is not allowed. Rooms where combat is allowed in the Temple Map are those with training map actions.
- Training period will now start at the Grand Hall, where combat is not allowed. This means you will now have extra time to recruit companions before you get assaulted.
- The Candidates array will now be shuffled at the initialization of the map. This means that the order in which NPCs make map decisions will be different each period. The previous state could have provoked some excessively repetitive behavior.
Map AI
- Increased chance of NPCs initiating challenges in relation to the chance of initiating assaults.
UI
- If you have a special relationship with another Candidate, their drives will be shown in their page in the personal room menu.
- Updated descriptions for sex and battle actions. They will now explain the proportion in which each stat influences each action's effects.
- Updated descriptions for training actions, which now show the bar stat used to train.
Bug fixes
- Fixed error that would throw a non-fatal exception if the player attempted to cancel a continued action whose ID was bigger than any other canceled continued action during the same turn, and would not allow the player to cancel the continued action.
- Added checks to make sure that stats' sum and mult modifiers lose incredibly small decimals at the end of the day. This had no practical effects in gameplay, but in was annoying to see in the UI.
- Fixed small typo in the formatting of the stats screen if any stat was below its base value.
- Added check to disable liberation challenges if either the actor or the target was involved in a battle event, which could provoke issues.
- Added checks to prevent specific topics from being proposed to any character that is following a character other than the proposer.
- Added provisional names for whenever the player forgot to name their character: "Nameless" for the standard story start, and "MyParentsDidntNameMe" for the Quickstart Menu.
- Fixed difficulties to initiate tutorship offers as tutor and pupil.
- Fixed certain prompts that could provoke the UI to return to map after accepting or rejecting certain requests while the player in conversation.
- Added extra line of code that may help the system understand that the player is not in conversation.
- Fixed issue that would provoke the scene screen to display the description of a previous scene, if the player joined a generic sex scene and unrelated NPCs had engaged in a scene by themselves during the previous 20 minutes. (Copied on v0.2.2b)
- Fixed small typo that reduced the chance of NPCs of initiating challenges but not assaults if they had already attacked someone that day.

- Fixed a few typos through the game.

- Update readme file with instructions to handle localStorage errors.
- Added a provisional guide to the game's folder, which explains some obscure mechanics and proposes some character builds and strategies.
