August Progress Report!

Hello hello! I posted a really weird video this month! I said I would in July's Progress Report and I did it! Hooray!

WHAT'S UP ON PATREON?

Got a good chunk of Patreon posts this month!

- making a tiny power ballad | August Process Stream
-
Aug. Goofy Livestream Info & Poll for September
-
AUG 2023 THIRDLY REPORT | August Goofy Livestream
-
THE MAKING OF "a dream i had the other day"
-
a dream i had the other day | SONG, STEMS, SFX

WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO?

Mostly making that really weird video! (The song is now on Spotify, just in case you need it.) I had such a fun time making both the video and my weird little boy (you can see a nice, unsettling, eyeless pic of the creation process above, and a full video of making him in THE MAKING OF). It's nice to get silly with it. And now my son just hangs out next to my skeleton. Two of my sweet boys:

Outside of the video, I've started doing my morning exercise streams again! I'm finally a little less busy, and it's been nice to hop back into the exercise routine (and have an excuse to play more Armored Core).

(As a heads up, I'm gonna be doing a very long stream next Wednesday, Sept. 6, to play a bunch of Starfield! I'll be streaming during a normal time of day! How novel!)

I also appeared on an episode of Sad Boyz with Jarvis and Jordan. I had a super great time with them, and you should check it out! They're great people.

WHAT AM I UP TO NEXT?

I've got good and bad news. The good news is that I've been having a ton of video ideas lately. The bad news is that I have a ton of video ideas and can't figure out what to focus on. My codename list from last Progress Report has now become:

- d̶r̶e̶a̶m̶ r̶a̶c̶c̶o̶o̶n̶ (just posted this video, the codename probably makes more sense now)
- embroidered menace
- chaka khan
- new goblins
- livestreamed variety show
- another cooking video with Jeremy as editor
- autobiographical internet existence doc???
- some more sincere/less silly music

On top of these, I'm still picking away at my horror script, but I keep hitting snags left and right. I'm gonna keep working at it, because I think it's worth it!

I'm also gonna be ramping up production on some Dropout stuff, since they're not affected by the SAG-AFTRA strike! And speaking of SAG, a few of my larger voice roles will be coming out in the very near future! I'm still allowed to promote them during the strike, because they're part of projects in the Non Struck Work categories, which can be a little confusing. On the one hand, it can feel like it minimizes the work on those projects, but on the other hand, it's great to promote the projects that are doing everything to SAG standards! Either way, it's an odd time for them to be released. But I'm excited nonetheless.

(Also the Tom Cardy collab still exists and will come out and just hang on for a second we're doing stuff but it'll be out by the end of the year at the very latest.)

WHAT ELSE HAVE I BEEN DOING?

Armored Core. Lots of Armored Core. And probably some Baldur's Gate this weekend because it's out for PS5 and Karen and I can play couch co-op. And then it's Starfield? And I just beat Dave the Diver? And Pikmin 4? Good lord there are too many good games this year. Jeez Louise. Cool it down a little please.

I've also been making a lot more pottery! Please enjoy this teapot that I was super excited about throwing off the hump, which is a dirty sounding phrase but I PROMISE is a normal pottery term. Unfortunately, I didn't end up compressing the base well enough so it got an enormous crack at the bottom. Oh well. I guess it's time for it to become a succulent planter. Or maybe I'll just turn it into a little weird Polteageist figure:

OKAY THAT'S IT FOR NOW

Have a great September! If you're in school, I hope your new year is starting well! If you're not in school, enjoy not having to go to school anymore! Sometimes, it's good to look at people doing homework and think, "Wow, how nice it is that I don't have to think about Calculus anymore."

August Progress Report! August Progress Report!

I gasped and just pointed at my screen! I don't think proud is the right word- but I am so happy to see BDG getting more and more opportunities. It was absolutely delightful.

Cool teapot

Cinnamon Shakes

Can't wait to see the Dropout stuff eventually! :)

Karis

you can seal the underside with some thick epoxy glue!

Ofir Partom (Saint Argentum)

Just encountered one of the big VA roles, and congrats for getting hired by them again!

Jamie Hayes

Unfortunately calculus is what I’m taking this semester and I don’t know why I’m doing this to myself (I do know why but I question my choice everyday) The plus side is the pottery classes I’m takin to get some studio time in. Great teapot! It’s so hard to compress properly on the hump.

Dilly

thanks so much for changing it! wheel throwing is so fraught for me in general, throwing off the hump seems like an even greater difficulty to overcome. big pog for getting that teapot off the hump, even if the bottom cracked

rionsanura

That's a very lovely teapot ! Too bad for the crack. Are you maybe familiar with the Great Pottery Throwdown ? It's a Bake Off-adjacent show with oh-so-lovely contestants and judging. I wait for it every year (more than Bake off even).

Antoine Hinge

Came back to say that I like the “signature” you put on the bottom of your pottery - it looks like a pair of hook swords

I always love seeing your videos and your appearances in other works! I’ve been a huge fan ever since my friend told me about Unraveled at a party and now I share BDG with everyone Bc everyone should experience the esoteric glory of your videos. Lookin forward to the next thing!

Jaysee Sell

Super excited for the upcoming dropout stuff! Also maybe I need to get into pottery

GreatBearShark

Oh wow, this post is making me realize I’ve missed a Whole Bunch Of Stuff, but hey more potential to binge it all if I get the chance sometime soon. Sounds like you’re having a good time, all those crafting projects are looking excellent, that teapot makes my brain go brrrrrrrrrrrr

marley

The episodes with you on dropout are some of my favorite! I'm excited to see what comes next!

Zoe smith-stoe

p.s. i would like to read about Throwing Off The Hump but the link seems to be broken

rionsanura

“ - another cooking video with Jeremy as editor”—yes please & thank you

Chaz

Don't tell anyone what making handles looks like ya dang thirst trap.

Joshua Cubbin

what a joy to learn that you've got more music on the list of potentials! I always deeply and sincerely dig it. and i'm so glad to hear the roles coming out soon are non-struck! huzzah for corps living up to the SAG requirements!

rionsanura

It’s nice to not physically do calculus anymore, but it doesn’t stop you from having periodic calculus lesson nightmares for the rest of your life! So it goes. All of those ideas sound fun, and I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself and not overdoing it! Gonna leave it to next week to make sure my hip’s better, then I’ll be back on the bike myself!
