Jan. Progress Report!

January is already over! What a quick month, huh?

WHAT DID I DO?

It's been a busy month! Obviously, Welcome to the Neighborhood! came out, after starting it nearly 3 months ago (according to the Oct. '22 Progress Report). Sometimes you spend way too long on the graphics! And by sometimes I mean I will do that forever and never change!

But it's been busy with other work, too, as Karen and I have been going a little harder on our writing stuff. It will sadly be invisible and un-talk-about-able for the foreseeable future, but again, here's hoping we'll have something to share eventually!

WHAT'S UP NEXT?

More writing! And another song video! I've been working on the music lately, and hopefully the video will be slightly less graphics heavy than the previous one.

That said, I've kind of made an unofficial goal to make my videos as visually different as possible this year. Green screens and the same small apartment rooms are fun, but I want to spend a little extra time to make sure the videos feel special or—at the very least—visually distinct.

In keeping with that, I've been thinking about spending some extra time on videos later this year. If I end up spending 2-3 months on a video (like the Health Insurance one) and not publishing every month, I'll be sure to give you all a heads up, and I'll keep you in the loop with more behind-the-scenes treats on the process of making it!

I've also got an even BIGGER plan to try and produce a legit short film that we'd try to put on the festival circuit before uploading to YouTube, and if that's the case, I'll be sure to give LOTS of updates on that. But that plan is still in its infancy, so don't expect news for a bit!

OTHER UPDATES?

I'm taking a little break from my Twitch for a bit, partially just to take a break after doing it nearly non-stop for 2.5 years, and partially to come back to it with fresh eyes. I keep feeling the urge to make something weirder on Twitch—maybe a weekly show or something that feels like it benefits from the live aspect—but I'm so comfortable with my standard wake-up-and-start-exercise-streaming routine that I haven't been able to give it much thought.

Oh, and I put up RGSS and there is a rock in my house and Welcome to the Neighborhood on Spotify, now, so that's something!

I turned 29 a couple days ago! It feels very similar to 28 so far.
