UPDATE: The Undigested Shadow & Light Reading

Hello everyone.

The month is nearly gone and this video wot I promised isn't here. What's up with that?

I've been working on The Consuming Shadow video for some time, but it's not coming together. It feels disjointed, confused, and I'm lacking confidence in some of the points I'm making. A part of this might be the somewhat disjointed production it had with the Bad Medicine Month I suffered. It might also be that it's just that the current approach isn't working, for whatever reason.

I'm not going to throw the whole thing in the bin as I think it could be salvaged if I approach with some patience and care, but I think I need some distance as well. Hammering away at something repeatedly and having it never turn out how you want is disheartening and will just make for an unhappy Jack. Unhappy Jack means worse videos. So let's move onto something else in the meantime and get the groove back.

The next video will be the long-promised Amazon Print-To-Order Books video. I've been ready to make this for a while but kept second-guessing when to do it since it'll be so different to normal. Well, I'm now sick of having it kicking around my head so we're gonna just do it.

It's shaping up to be somewhat sizable, and since most of it will be done with a camera, rather than gameplay footage, it's going to be a very different production to normal. As such, it's probably going to take a little while, and I couldn't tell you when it's going to be done. It should be sometime in September at least. I'm comfortable with the amount of research done for it, and I think the scope is set reasonably. I may reach out to a few people and places still, but probably when I have most of the video done.

Not thinking about what comes after this right now. Project Rogue still stares down at me. I possibly want that done by the end of the year, in whatever shape it takes, just so I can kick that idea out of my head too. Death to Brainworms.

As always, thank you for your support and understanding. I hope to return with some good videos next we speak.

Stay safe!

- Jack

Looking forward to the video when it arrives, but for now, take it easy!

Ah yes the wonderfully taxing but rewarding activity of dusting off a few things and declaring them finished! And yeah it's a great idea getting some distance from a creative piece for a while, the ideas and creation process can kind of solidify and atrophy after a while, making the process both impossible to change and making the entire thing the worst kind of familiar. Good luck with everything.
