It was such a wonderful ride and I appreciate everyone, who joined this journey and read at least some of my long-ass comments. If anybody wants to, feel free to reach out to me with any questions or your own commentary on anything, I am always interested. I have also a playlist of all Linked Horizon songs dedicated to Shingeki no Kyojin (pretty much the whole discography, they released one album before dedicating the group to Shingeki no Kyojin only). In the description of the playlist there are notes of meanings of all songs. There are notes to songs you cannot see there, because a few songs (like: Watashi ga Honto ni Hoshikatta Mono (What I Really Wanted) - The bonus track for the limited edition of Shingeki no Kioku. It is a song about what Ymir Fritz really wanted) were released as CD only, so I added them to my library on my own, but those notes are in the track order, so you will figure it out easily: https://music.apple.com/cz/playlist/進撃の巨人/pl.u-4JomzxJIXxPP6d0 For the end, let me share statistics of everything I have written here on this Patreon about Shingeki no Kyojin: 149 576 characters without spaces 181 281 characters with spaces 34 104 words 1 596 paragraphs 104 pages

2026-02-11 16:35:23 +0000 UTCComment Numero 10: Currently my ranking order is: 1) Guren no Yumiya - But with Armin’s speech at the beginning as it is in the album... without it that would be equal to Shinzō wo Sasageyo and they would share the first place 2) Shinzō wo Sasageyo 3) Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi 4) Saigo no Kyojin 5) Boku no Sensō 6) The Rumbling 7) Jiyū no Tsubasa 8) Red Swan Although I am still thinking about Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi, Saigo no Kyojin and Boku no Sensō, because they are really equal to me, but as it is now I would have them in this order. And then The Rumbling and Jiyū no Tsubasa are also questionable (also really equal). Well, to be honest… only Guren no Yumiya in those two versions with Armin’s speech is for sure number one and then it is all (except for Red Swan) super close to each other with Shinzō wo Sasageyo! being the closest to Guren no Yumiya and Jiyū no Tsubasa being the furthest from Guren no Yumiya.

2026-02-11 16:09:21 +0000 UTCComment Numero 9: Saigo no Kyojin is such a hidden gem. It was released for the episodic release, which is only available on the Japanese Netflix and in general people rather watch either those two special episodes or the very last movie. So there are people, who don’t even know it exists… It sums up the story and everything so well and it ends with Armin’s words saying that with this the era of titans ended, so even without the ending song (Nisennen... Moshiku wa... Nimannen Go no Kimi e...) I included in this playlist to make it a full circle listening story experience, it is still a full circle story just like this thanks to Armin’s speech.

2026-02-11 16:01:00 +0000 UTCComment Numero 8: Considering anime being way more mainstream than in 2013, I think The Rumbling is probably even more known than Guren no Yumiya, because it went super viral even outside anime fans. Every metal fan knows it, I think. 38:25 - The Rumbling as a waking up song?? Damn, you must love this song!! You better have speakers synced across your whole apartment to get the most of it!! Your speech comparing yourself to Eren and what would have happened if you did not change (basically becoming Rumbling Eren) is just: 55555

2026-02-11 15:54:23 +0000 UTCComment Numero 7: Boku no Sensō, the KAEDE OPENING!! On the album cover we see Gabi holding a gun in a classroom… The “children coin” lyric references at that time yet to happen moment of the young boy being killed by the step of colossal titans. As I mentioned in the ending listening party, this band is simply weird. 33:25 - If I am correct based on the live performances, this high pitched section is sung by A MALE! Yeah… even THIS SONG was my number one for some period of time, which made me feel crazy as fuck…

2026-02-11 15:46:49 +0000 UTCComment Numero 6: Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi is the Return to Shinganshina arc, the arc where we get back to where it all started, that is why this song has similar vibe as Guren no Yumiya (the first one). 27:05 - That change up always makes me think of NMixx, it is so sudden but it fits the song so well!

2026-02-11 15:40:44 +0000 UTCComment Numero 5: Red Swan is a very beautiful song, but the change did not land well on me. I get the story started to get different, so that was their intention here too, but then after this arc the story gets totally different and THERE having something totally different like Boku no Sensō made sense. Also! Linked Horizon made a b-side about this arc and reflecting the whole coup d’etat thing and in my opinion that would have been a wonderful choice for the opening of this arc. It would be easily in my top 2 or 3 if it was an opening. I even included it in the Linked Horizon only playlist, I replaced Red Swan by this song and it hits SO DIFFERENT after Shinzō wo Sasageyo and leading to Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi. The song is called Kakumei no Yoru Ni, there is a wonderful AMV to it too, I recommend everyone to watch it and listen to the song! https://youtu.be/X2lxb_CJOGY?si=VZGzLfnltj86oeOM Here is the playlist in case someone is interested: https://music.apple.com/cz/playlist/%E9%80%B2%E6%92%83%E3%81%AE%E5%B7%A8%E4%BA%BA/pl.u-55D6x5KSXdrrbPe

2026-02-11 15:39:01 +0000 UTCComment Numero 4: Except Red Swan literally every single opening was my number my for some period of time. But Shinzō wo Sasageyo kept the number one spot for the longest time and it made Guren no Yumiya run for its money. Like if there were no Armin’s intros versions of Guren no Yumiya, Shinzō wo Sasageyo would have been neck to neck with Guren no Yumiya for me!
