Namaste Out of It — Eternal Beach City

I’ve never been much for yoga personally. I’m sure it’s very beneficial in a lot of different arenas; I just don’t have the patience for it.

It’s weird, because I have the patience for a lot of other things, but most of those other things don’t require staying still and nothing happening. Same reason I “can’t” meditate. I know, I know; you gotta accept and acknowledge it when you get distracted and then recenter yourself or whatever. I just don’t have the patience.

My mom was actually a Transcendental Meditation instructor for a good number of years. But when I was pretty young, she switched to Catholicism pretty hardcore. So, instead of learning how to calm down, I learned about Thomas Aquinas, embracing guilt and shame and that 9/11 was an inside job.

The last bit had little to do with Catholicism. She’s just also insane.

Woof, I can imagine. Talk about mixed messages and dealing with BOTH sides of the crazy spectrum.

Huh, somewhat similar childhood here! My Mom got into Healing Touch massage, but both parents were also extremely devout conservative Christians. So a bit of a mix of "If you focus your energies correctly you can see auras and blow out a candle from across the room.", but also "Magic is evil and 'As long as you live under our roof you'll go to church twice a week and practice XYZ'." Nothing could have been a stronger motivator to get out from under their roof than that.

Haha, thank you! It was an interesting challenge for me too!

I appreciate the different angles you drew Kayla in - figuring out her proportions has been an interesting challenge for me
