Virsu-99: Pandemic – Chapter II. Part 2(?)
Added 2025-02-24 22:16:24 +0000 UTCWith a one-day delay, I finally managed to complete the update. As I mentioned in my previous post, this update includes one of the storylines from Chapter II. You can read more details about it below. I also wrote about what to expect, and I was basically able to accomplish that—meaning the entire storyline, from beginning to end. However, some things have changed, so I’m listing everything that has been added in this update here.
The contents of the update:
The promised combat system: Evan’s power level now influences damage, hit chance, and dodge success. (You can find more details in my previous post: February 18 - What to know about the next update.)
The promised power system: A small change has been made. You can still earn 1-2 points per day, and training can be done in the room or the basement. However, there is now a 30% chance that Hannah will join the training, granting you an additional +1 point. Additionally, there is a 30% chance that Ryan will be in the basement, preventing you from training.
Kitchen, Living Room, Bathroom – Random Events: These have been implemented as described in my previous post, with one small difference—there are 54 events instead of 60 (sorry! 😅). However, events fully refresh every 5 days, and there are two events per day, so I tried to keep things interesting. Oh, and yes, Hannah's corruption level affects these events.
Objective Change: More precisely, it has been expanded. Now, you must either defeat Ryan or escape the house to achieve your goal.
Combat Availability: You can start fighting from level 1 physical strength. A fight is available every day in Ryan’s room. However, health regenerates fully only every 4 days, so keep that in mind. Based on my tests, from level 3, it is already possible to defeat him (if you're lucky). It’s still possible at lower levels, but only if he never lands a hit on you.
4+1 "Lost Fight" Events: These are tied to Evan’s power level. The game continues after the first four lost fights, but if you enter the fight at max power level and still lose, it results in GAME OVER—this is the “Bad Ending” for this update.
Time Limit & Game Over: If you fail to defeat Ryan or escape within 50 days, it’s also GAME OVER. By then, Hannah’s corruption level reaches 100, triggering the “Bad Ending” event.
Victory Ending: If you successfully defeat Ryan, the game ends, and you receive the "Good Ending" event.
Alternative Escape Route: You don’t have to fight if you don’t want to. Instead of training, you can work on an escape plan. If you manage to escape within 50 days, you unlock an alternative ending.
Additional Short Events: These events remain the same text-wise, but the video content changes based on Hannah’s corruption level:
Hannah visits your room every 8 days (5 variations).
Hannah "plays" in her room (3 variations).
Hannah distracts Ryan while you work on the escape (5 variations).
I think that’s everything, but it’s possible I may have forgotten something. Counting both small and large events, this update adds 71 new events to the game. As a result, Chapter II now includes a total of 169 video segments (with a total runtime of 30 minutes) and 108 images across all storylines.
Due to the numerous codes, conditions, points, and versions, I had to learn new things in Twine, so there might be some bugs. Because of this, I’ve decided to launch a 5-day testing period first. The game version I’ll be sharing in my next post will be available to TIER 2-3 members until March 1.
Thank you for your patience! I hope I can now maintain this pace and continue delivering 1-2 updates per month.
