FUN FACT I actually did tear up reading the script. Dez and Nara absolutely nailed it in my humble opinion. Twas magical to be in the booth, witnessing them~
Our obligatory behind-the-scenes look: Dramatic animation and compositing continues to be one of the greatest, yet welcome, challenges this series affords me. I think this is the first episode to have backlighting for the characters, now that I think about it. And the camellia designs on Mara's dress were an additional fun little challenge, even though I was using an image brush to get them on there. I think it's also the first episode to have a nondiegetic score the whole way through! Extra fun fact, I'm learning incorporating music into episodes using scores not specifically made for the episode is REALLY hard, but also pretty fun~
Auauauagh in all seriousness though this was such a great episode to work on! These two have such a cute relationship, and I'm so glad we got to have them take some time to talk about it and experience some pitfalls! I think it'll make them stronger going forward... aaa they still break my hearttt.
I'm sure next week will be extremely funny and a laugh riot and not even a little bit dramatic.
