These two, man. These two are breakin' my heart.
This episode's backgrounds kicked my butt a little bit but I had sooo much fun figuring it out. Nara and Dez absolutely killed it in the booth, too! And don't worry, y'all, this isn't the only episode we're spending on this problem. Even though that cliffhanger devastates me.
No guest voices this time. But we DID get to see both of Rayne's parents! She really takes after her mother, huh.
Also, you guys MAY have noticed the end card on this one pulling double-duty.... not only are we talkin' about our Kickstarter, we also, starting today (aug 29) have the Pepper the Bard YouTooz plush out and on sale today! (not sure exactly what time so if it's still not available when you click the link, check back later)
They've been absolutely phenomenal to work with. I can't tell you how surreal it is for me especially (Jay) as the designer to walk into my living room and see Pepper sitting on the couch. I do a lot of bits with it.
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT PEPPER, this is about Rayne and Mara! OH THE HUMANITY...

Imagine losing your soul mate after a life together and then having to spend the rest of eternity without them. She probably thinks the pain would be unbearable and doesn't want Rayne to get any closer so she won't have to experience it. She's wrong of course, but it's understandable why she thinks that way.
